"Where was you?" Amelia screeches, she's scarier than the clone.

"I got lost," I look away as I enter her car.

Why did I sit shotgun? I should've sat at the back. I don't want to deal with her wrath. I'm so done.

Immediately she rolls her eyes. She opens her mouth to say something, but then closes it. She begins to drive. I don't know where to and I don't know for how long but I am grateful.

The silence is mesmerising.

Realising I have to get back on Carrie's good books, I take in a huge breath.

"We've got nothing on them," I sigh.

"Don't you think Carrie's an imposter?" She arches an eyebrow, her voice is steady and calm now.

"It doesn't make sense though, what would she gain from it?" I ask honestly.

"I don't know man," she slams her head back. "Something's not right about her."

"Yeah, what do we do?" I shrug.

"We go back to them," she pauses and I realise she's waiting for my reaction so I fake a gasp.

She turns to face me for a split second, squinting her eyes and then rolls her eyes.

"Where were you?" She asks roughly.

"Stop. Why are we going back to them? They hate me!" I attempt to change the subject.

"Shut up Levi, why do you suddenly want to go back?" She isolates my thoughts.

"What? That's the last thing I want." I huff.

"Stop lying, your acting sucks. Where were you?" She repeats the question more deadly this time.

"Investigating the area?" My voice goes high pitched, well I tried.

"Wow," she's clearly fed up. "I didn't know you was a liar, a bad one."

I pause for a second contemplating what to respond. However Amelia doesn't nudge me for a response, instead she carries on driving in silence.

I take out my phone to text Aura for permission to confess to Amelia. It would be so much easier having somebody working with me instead of against me.

Me: Can I tell Amelia everything?

Aura: Sure, just not Selena's part.

"Okay," I grab Amelia's attention.

I tell her everything excluding Selena's involvement.

...

"Wait, so how did you find them?" Amelia asks, poking the holes in my story.

It was filled with Selena and her clone kidnapping me, how does one cover that one up?

"Aura messaged me when she saw us in the park," I explained.

"Oh, and you didn't think to invite me or even tell me! Thanks." Her response was dull.

I laugh and raise my hands in surrender.

"I really wanted to meet Aura as well. She seems like such a badass, she scares the fxck out of Carrie!" Amelia laughs and then sighs.

To think about it, when Carrie first called me she didn't let me invite Aura. Now I'm going to find out why.

"How?"

"Because if anybody can see through a lie, it's Aura," she laughs and then glances at me, "You know I'm surprised, you being her friend and all yet you don't know her reputation."

"What reputation?" I laugh.

"Are you serious?" Amelia bursts into laughter. "That girl could ruin somebody if she really wanted to, the amount of drama she could cause with all the secrets she finds out."

Oh, she's probably talking about the anonymous advice email.

"Pfft, I knew about that," I defend myself.

"Of course," Amelia mocks me.

I roll my eyes and look forward. We're nearly back. I really wish I got some instructions or something because I'm improvising everything as I go along.

"Don't worry, you have me," Amelia reassures me, it's like she read my mind.

I hesitate a laughter really spooked out.

For a second I wonder whether this is a clone or whether the clone even existed to begin with. I shake my head in attempts to throw the thought out of the window.

Focus.

In the meantime of not knowing what to do, we might as well find out whether Carrie is an imposter.

I know we're meant to be on her good books but who says we can't do both?
