The tunnel is quite small but I manage to comfortably fit through. At the end of the tunnel I can see a bright light shimmering from above.
The end is quite near.
Once my head thumps on the cave, this indicates that it's safe to assume this is the end.
I can feel the heat radiating from above, making me cautious when I look up. All I see is white.
I tap above my head, revealing that there's an open space. Slowly, I stand up being very careful because I really don't want to bang my head again. It hurt.
I'm able to fully stand up and that's when I identify the source of light. It's a few inches above my head. The light pokes through the holes of the metal plate.
I tip toe to peak through the holes. I see the legs of a wooden table.
Suddenly the metal plate vibrates making me fall. The light gets bigger as the metal plate is pulled away. I remain in my crouched position.
"Hurry up Levi," Selena demands quietly.
Now I can see her arms approaching me as she attempts to pull me up. I stand back up and take her hands. Painfully but fast, she manages to pull me all the way up. My body scraping against the sharp stones along the way.
Once I'm finally out of the tunnel, the brightness shatters my vision. Moments later a dining room appears in front of me. There's a huge wooden table in the centre of the room. A fancy candle rests on the table. The soft carpet is dark red, complimenting the dark embroidery on the walls. It's a really big room.
"You done looking? Because we gotta go," Selena snaps and that's when I realise she still has a grip around my wrist.
She pulls me out of the room and into the corridor. She brings her finger to her lips, indicating for me to be quiet while we tip toe on the stairs.
Meanwhile we creep upstairs, I notice the huge chandelier in the corridor. It continues to sparkle in peace.
I'm dragged towards a dark brown door. Selena's pocket rattles as she takes out her keys. Excluding all the other keys apart from the gold one, she unlocks the door. Instantly I'm pushed into the room with Selena and cling, the door is locked.
She walks towards the wardrobe and changes her black themed clothing. I preoccupy myself by looking elsewhere. I'm guessing this is her bedroom. She has a double bed in the left corner of the room and next to it is her wardrobe. She has a mirror on her wardrobe. Opposite is her desk, on the side lays a neat pile of books. Her handwriting's the same. It's clearly school work. To the right there's a window but the curtains are shut so I can't see what's outside.
"I'm done," she states.
She's wearing a big grey hoody and grey tracksuits. She sits on her bed and looks towards her old fashioned curtains. I sit on the chair near her desk, waiting for her to say something.
Her pillow vibrates. She reaches towards the pillow, taking out her phone from underneath. While she looks at her phone, her eyes widen.
"Shit," she mutters. "Master and Amelia know we escaped, we need to go."
She runs to the curtains and open it. The colour green bursts out of the window. There's a huge tree right next to it. She opens her window and smoothly jumps onto a branch. It's clear this isn't her first time doing this. I follow and do the same, not as smoothly. My legs tremble while my hands reach for the tree for support. Selena goes a little further down and then jumps. Rustles of leaves indicates her landing. I can't even hold the trunk of the tree so there's really no point of going further down. I might as well jump now. Sitting on the branch and taking in a deep breath. I jump.
Selena holds her hand out to help me up and then we run to somewhere green.
