"I wouldn't.. No. Not really. I wouldn't. No. It's not cheating." Madison desperately tries to convince herself as I look at her with pity.
A smug smile appears on my face as my eyes jumps in amusement. Instantly, she throws a pillow at me. Gosh, this girl has some fast reactions. She can't be human. No, she's some bionic with super speed and eyes everywhere. I actually thought that she was blinded due to all her contemplation. Clearly, I was wrong...
My eye brows furrow in order to achieve the grumpy face. I'm not giving her a death stare. That's too much effort and it's not that deep. I gesture a certain finger in response. 2, 4, 6. I choose number 4.
"Hurry up and just tell me I cheated!" She melodramatically cries in defeat.
"I don't need to confirm anything." I formally state.
"Damn. Since you don't need to confirm it that means there may be something to confirm. I cheated."
Yes, she cheated on her exam. She has the dignity to confirm that she cheated without my help. I feel bad though, I think she's going to confess to her teacher tomorrow... That makes me respect her even more.
She looks at me as if I'm holding all the answers. Actually, I am holding all the answers. I stare at my hand full of good people food! So much food.
"Food is always the answer. I'd marry food but I'm afraid I'd constantly get divorced because I'll end up gobbling it into my stomach rather than my heart. Then I'll lie and say it's chatting shit. After all, that's the last time I'd see it."
All of a sudden Madison bursts into laughter. "I swear you're so weird."
It's taking me a few seconds to finally realize that I was saying my thoughts about food out loud.
"Atleassst, I'm not a cheeeeaaateeer..." I play with the words on my tongue waiting for her to strike.
"I'm out of pillows? Stop!"
I raise both my hands, "you asked for it." Innocently I respond.
Knock! Knock!
I look at Madison and gesture her to the door.
"Levi, you're funny."
"Pleaseeeeee." I widen my eyes as I pout.
"It's your room." She mimics me as she raises both her hands.
I throw the pillow at her face. She's so lazy, not opening the door for me. She's the guest to my dorm. To think that she would just have a little bit of respect by opening the door for me. I'm just as lazy, but maybe a little more.
As I open my door, a boy starts revealing. Hey, I recognize him. It's that guy that tried to help me in the cafeteria yesterday! Maybe I shouldn't have been so rude. Actually, no. I don't regret it.
I can tell he wasn't expecting me because as soon as he looks at me, he slowly steps back. Yes he's not as dumb as I assumed. Not dumb in lacking in intelligence but dumb as in lacking in common sense.
He avoids eye contact with me as if I'm the Devil. How melodramatic of him.
"What?" I roll my eyes impatiently.
"Wrong door." Coldly he snaps back.
He's leaving, yay! No, Madison is coming. Now she can come to the door, bad timing.
"Daniel!" She calls out, his name I'm guessing.
He does look like a Daniel. He has really dark brown hair with dark brown eyes. He has that edgy but respectful vibe. I'm trying to remind myself why I was so rude to him yesterday. Oh well. Mistakes happen every now and then.
Daniel turns around to look at Madison in awe. Ey, I think he likes her. I don't know but I can just feel that strong connection between them too, possibly waiting to be sparks. They would be cute together. It's like Daniel's the electron being attracted by Madison, the nucleus. Unfortunately, it seems that Madison wants to attract other electrons instead. I wonder whether they have chemistry together.
"Madison, you know her?" He asks in complete disgust but he manages to mask it with his undying affection for Madison.
"Yes! Daniel, this is Levi. Levi, this is Daniel." She squeals as she introduces us.
"Oh hey Levi, nice meeting you." Daniel changes into a completely different person, as if we never spoke before.
Not really, not nice at all but I manage to fake a smile.
He continues to speak. "So, I'm having this party tomorrow downstairs. You both should come!"
He emphasizes at the word 'both', clearly he wants Madison. I wonder if she's noticing his affection towards her. I don't think she is or she's creating a solid barrier, forcing him to stay in the friend zone. The barrier is transparent though, so she's able to let him down in the most friendliness way possible.
"We'll be there!" Madison instantly replies in a high pitched tone.
"Wh..." She quickly waves bye at Daniel as she shuts the door, not allowing me to refuse the offer.
"Why? I don't want to go!" I moan immaturely.
"No, we're going. It's time you get friends." She shuts me up.
It's been three days yet the only friend I have is her. She's tolerable. The others? I don't know and I surely don't want to find out.
