Chapter 13 || The Blind Leading The Blind

      "Ari..." Colton whined.

I rolled my eyes and removed the earphones from my ears and looked at him expectantly. "What?"

"Are we there yet?" he asked me again.

"The journey takes at least 4 hours. And we just left 10 minutes ago!" I whispered to him. I wanted so badly to continue listening to OneRepublic's album which just downloaded into my phone.

"I'm bored." he whined again.

I looked at him in disbelief. "Fine." I finally gave in. "What do you have in mind?" I kept my earphones back into my bag and pocketed my phone.

"Let's play a little game." he said, his eyes gleamed in mischief.

"Did you see her face?" I whisper-laughed at Colton.

He nodded enthusiastically and laughed along with me. "Who the hell was that?" he imitated the old lady's voice.

We were playing the typical game you would in a bus full of boring, old people going on a trip from their knitting club; throw-a-piece-of-paper-at-random-people.

We're mean, I know. But to my defense, this was all Colton's idea.

No eye-rolling allowed.

I didn't want to do it, at first. But I got so sick of their whines and cries that I gave into Colton's idea. Colton went first, he was that much of a daredevil. The old people were, well, annoying putting it lightly. Every few seconds, someone would complain about something. I'm surprised that they haven't ran out of things to complain.

" Is the air conditioning not on or what?"

There goes another one. The other passengers were pretty much annoyed and were shooting them death glares, but to our utter dismay, they did not realise.

" It's like 40 degrees out here!" another waved herself with her hands.

Well, excuse you. If you don't like how hot it is, why are you staying in Malaysia again? You should feel extremely lucky that the temperature hasn't reached more than 32°C yet.

"One more time I hear them whine, I'm going to throw paper at them." Colton grumbled.

" Urgh. I feel so disgusting."

"That's it. Paper?" he asked. I rummaged through my bag and produced a sheet of A4 paper and handed it over to him.

He tore it into pieces and began throwing at one of them. The old man instantly turned, searching for the culprit. Colton and I turned back into our seats and pretended to be engrossed with a magazine provided in the bus.

"Who did that?" he yelled.

No one answered. He gave each and every single passenger a dirty look before proceeding to continue chatting with his friends.

Everything was fine and dandy, even I tried a hand at throwing. The other passengers who saw us gave us amused smiles but to our relief, they didn't rat us out. Soon enough, they had enough and complained to the bus driver.

With a long sigh, the bus driver faced us while we were waiting at the traffic light and threatened to throw us all out if the culprits didn't stop.
