Ok, so First impressions are important, trust me.
For about the first week don't have headphones in your ears nor have your phone on you. (Or if you don't trust anyone including your locker partner, you may have it on you, just make sure it's turned off or you can hand it to your advisory teacher so they can make sure it's out of reach for other students and is safe and sound, just don't forget to pick it up at the end of the day.)I say to not have any headphones in your ears cause you want your classmates and teacher's to know that you are, as they say "all ears." It will change their perception (meaning their point of view) of you.
Also make sure you do everything they tell you to including the work because, then they will see you as a hard working student and not seem to bother you. Make sure you also participate in class activities and class discussions (even if you don't want to and you think they are ridiculous) cause it may open up new doors or opportunities for you in the near future (For example; getting to know your classmates and or peers will help you befriend them and in turn they will end up helping you.)
Don't cause trouble for your teachers cause if you start to cause trouble they definitely will not be happy with you. They will end up seeing you as a lowly delinquent that likes to cause problems for everyone. You do not and I repeat,DO NOT want them to look at you like your a delinquent it will definitely fuck up your year.
Try and be corgile with everyone regardless of how big of a stick that, that person has stuck up their ass. Meaning that no matter how un-corgile, how rude, or how much of a dick you think that person is just try and keep your cool and keep trying to be corgile and as nice as possible. It will help your other peers and your teachers (if they notice) get a general feel for how you act and it will make them think that you really are a good person.
Lastly, have a strong conviction and a good goal to work towards. You must plan smartly and efficiently if your doing this. If you have a good goal to work towards that isn't too general, bland,or seems impossible for you to reach than keep working towards it and don't give up! Your conviction must be strong if ya want to survive the year or even survive the first few months. Don't let your conviction get weak cause in turn it will make you weaker and more vulnerable to everything and everyone around you.
Tip: Don't build your self up too high unless you already know that you can do it and not get knocked down easily by either other people, your academics, stress,or just this general feeling of emptiness that you may or may not experience as the year goes on.
