Christian

"I'm tired of trying Vanessa," I sighed. "Trying what?" She asked. "To talk to you."

She looked up at me and stayed silent for a few seconds. "Chris talking isn't going to do anything, can't you see that?" She asked. I could see the tears brimming her eyes.

"How would you know? You've been avoiding be for the past two weeks every damn time I try to talk to you!" I snapped. "Because talking isn't gonna do shit Chris! Our problems are bigger than that, we can't talk it out and be completely fine!" She retorted.

"At least I'm trying something," I sighed, lowering my voice as I stood up.

"You think I'm not trying?" She asked. "I haven't seen you try."

She stood up and faced me, I could see the tears slowly streaming out of her eyes.

"I haven't been trying? Chris I've tried weeks before this to get us to go somewhere, to get out and enjoy our relationship but all you've been doing is saying no and staying home. Now I'm the one to blame?" She spoke loud. And I've never heard her yell.

"I was trying day after day. Do you wanna go to the park? No. There's a movie coming out, no let's stay home. Can we go drive around? No. You've been denying every single thing I've offered in trying to fix our relationship!" She screamed.

"How do you think I feel now?" I asked. "I've been trying to talk to you. Trying to talk it out for a while now but you keep denying me too-"

"Don't you see where talking gets us? Look where we are now Chris! We need to go out and enjoy each other because every time we talk it turns into an argument! Are you not noticing this?" She cut me off.

Her phone began ringing and she immediately picked it up, denying the call. "Who was it?" I asked. "Stop changing the subject," she said.

"Vanessa, who called you?" I raised my voice. "What does it matter?" She asked.

I tried grabbing the phone from her hand but she quickly drew it back. "Who the fuck was calling you Vanessa?!" I yelled, attempting again.

Her hands on my chest shoved me back a foot or two. "Don't touch me," she strictly said. "Give me your phone," I held my hand out. "No," she denied.

I turned around and ran my hands through my hair, walking towards the wall before throwing a hard punch into it. "Stop! Chris stop!" She yelled. "What the fuck are you hiding from me Vanessa?" I turned around.

I was breathing extremely heavy, and knew my face was red. "I'm not hiding anything!" She defended, denying another call. "Who the fuck keeps calling you then?" I asked. "It doesn't matter!" She yelled.

"If it doesn't matter then show me your damn phone," I said. "You wanna see so bad?" She asked. "Fine. Take it." She threw her phone to me and I looked at the screen, reading the texts.

"Vanessa," I silently began. "Are you happy Chris? You know now." She shrugged. Tears rapidly streamed down her face as she took her phone back.

"Look I'm sorry I d-" she cut me off. "She got into a car accident and broke her leg so bad they had to do surgery."

I went closer to pull her into a hug but she turned and picked up her things. "Stop," I held her arm, pulling her into my chest.

She sobbed silently for seconds, hugging me tightly as she did. "I'm sorry," I kissed her head. "Chris look," she pulled away, wiping her cheeks.

"We can't be in this relationship if neither of us are happy," she sighed. I hated hearing this. But I knew it was the truth. "Maybe we should take a break for a while."

Silence passed us for far too long before I found words to say. "O-okay," I stuttered. "If that's what you believe, then I respect your decision."

She stepped closer and placed a hand on my cheek, softly kissing my cheek before slowly drawing her hand back.

I watched as she walked towards the door, turning one last time before leaving.

"Bye Chris."
