Christian
The semester was only halfway done, and I only wanted winter break to get here faster so I could go home for a little bit. I loved college, the people and the environment, but I got homesick real quick. And it sucks.
I was out on the campus with a few friends, but they were all lost in a conversation, while I was lost in my thoughts.
College wasn't even that far from home. A few hours of a drive, but still, it seemed like forever since I'd been home. Homesickness was worse than I expected.
I missed home a lot. I missed my mom's home cooked meals, my dad's corny jokes, and even arguing with my siblings basically all the time.
I missed Vanessa, too. I felt like I hadn't seen her in ages, and that was because she had to leave two weeks before I did, in order to film something for her career.
Still, we texted and talked almost everyday. Despite the distance and our schedules, we had the same love at all times. We had many opportunities to hang out and meet up, but they always ended up failing. Either I got stuck with school, or she got stuck with work.
"Yo Chris, you alright?" My friend, Tyler asked.
I looked up, bewildered. "Yeah. I'm actually about to head in, I've got some work to do," I lied. He and the rest of the group nodded. I said goodbye and parted my way.
A notification on my phone caused me to look down as I continued to walk.

I smiled to myself. They really were boosting their career.
"Please look up before you walk into a pole."
The familiar voice instantly brought my attention back up.
We both immediately had smiles on our faces as our eyes met.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, instantly pulling her into a hug.
"I wanted to surprise you! I'm not in any scenes today so I took the opportunity," she smiled.
"I missed you," I chuckled. "I missed you too."
She placed her hands on my cheeks before softly connecting our lips.
"Mm," I pulled away. "When did you leave?" I asked.
"Early this morning. I wanted to be here as soon as I could, so when Roni left to film, I left to come here," she explained.
I laced my hand with hers, and began walking with her.
"Would you like a campus tour?" I asked. She nodded her head, a soft laugh escaping her mouth.
I walked around outside, showing her the various buildings and extracurricular areas.
"My dorm is actually pretty cool. There's literally a chill room, and you can play music, not too loud, eat, and just hang out with friends," I explained. "But it's never actually chill, so I'm never there," I laughed.
"Show me your dorm room," Vanessa smiled at me.
"Alright, let's go."
I took her into the dorms and went up to the third floor, walking down the hall until we reached my room.
"Is your roommate chill?" She asked. "He is actually," I nodded. "He's out for the weekend, though," I added.
I unlocked the door, and allowed her in before shutting it behind us.
