Vanessa's POV
"Ooh, I'm gonna go buy pretzels, I'll come back," I said, dropping Chris' hand. He nodded his head, allowing me to leave the line he was waiting on.
Walking outside of the store, as I made my way to the pretzel stand, I turned around when I heard my name being shouted.
"Nessa!"
Looking around, my eyes landed on a group of three teenage girls coming in my direction with smiles.
"Hi," I smiled at them. One of them opened their arms, making me do the same as I hugged her.
"We all watch you and Roni's videos," another one said. "Oh thank you so much!" I softly laughed, hugging the other two.
"What are your names?" I asked.
"Alyssa."
"Cara."
"Kenzie."
"Can we get pictures?" Cara asked. "Yeah, of course," I nodded. They took out their phones, opening up their cameras. We took quite a few photos, but I didn't mind.
"How's your day been?" Alyssa asked.
These were the types of fans I loved to meet- they initiated conversations.
"Great! Yeah, it's been chill, what about you guys?" I asked. "Pretty good," Cara smiled, nodding.
"Just got better though," Alyssa added, making me laugh softly. "Aww, you're so sweet," I smiled.
"Is Roni here too?" Kenzie asked. "No, I came with Chris, Roni's at home," I explained.
Chris and I recently opened up about our relationship, and the feedback was amazing. So many people were skeptical after.. the news, but most of it was good.
"He's paying though," I added, making them nod.
"Anyway, were sorry for bothering you," Cara said. "No you didn't!" I assured them.
"It was so nice meeting you guys," I added, hugging them all again. "Thank you so much, bye!" They waved.
"Actually-" Cara paused, turning back towards me. The other two left, but she hadn't.
"I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for what you went through with um.. with your ex," she slowly began. My smile faded, but I didn't want to push her away.
"I can't imagine what you went through but you're so loved, Vanessa. You're so strong for getting through that and I'm so sorry you even had to," she added. "Thank you for opening up about it," she smiled weakly.
Not knowing what to say, I just hugged her tightly again. "Thank you so much," I said through the hug.
"I'm sorry for bringing it up, I just needed to say that," she said. "No don't apologize," I shook my head, still not knowing what else to say.
As we pulled away from the hug, she turned towards her friends. "I should go," she backed away, waving.
I did the same as she walked to their direction, before I turned back to the pretzel cart.
"Hi, can I get two please?" I asked, opening my wallet.
While I waited, Chris came out of the store, meeting me at the stand.
"I just met some fans," I said, still smiling from the earlier encounter.
"Really? How was it?" He asked. "Good actually, they were really sweet," I nodded.
