Christians POV
"I did post a new video today," I answered a comment on he YouNow stream.
I had been going at it for about an hour, talking to the viewers and enjoying it completely. I loved talking to them.
My phone started ringing, catching my attention. Seeing that it was Veronica, I sent her a text.
Can I call you later?
Setting my phone down, she called again before sending me a text.
Nessa's hurt
My heart completely stopped and I was sure you could tell from the stream.
"Um, I'm gonna get off, it was nice talking to you all, thanks for watching," I quickly said, before ending the stream. Calling Roni, I was already making my way out the door and to my car.
"What happened?" I immediately asked. "She- I don't know, we're at the hospital. We don't know anything but she's hurt. Get here fast," she explained.
"Okay."
Ending the call, I got into my car and drove to the hospital. I drove over the speed limit, ran red lights when I could, and barely stopped for signs. But I didn't care.
The second I parked the car, I ran into the doors of the hospital. What could have happened? It's 11:30 PM. I hadn't talked to her since before the stream, and she was home during that time.
All sorts of scenarios ran through my head, but I couldn't put my finger on any. There's no way this could've suddenly happened.. it just didn't make sense.
"Chris!" I heard Roni's voice. Once my eyes landed on her, I was quick to walk over.
"What happened?" I strictly asked. "Where is she?" I looked around.
"We don't know anything, they're not letting us into the room. They- she had to-" she stuttered.
I froze for a second. Roni was really nervous. Her eyes were watery and she already had tear stains on her face. This was really bad.
"What?" I asked. "She's in- surgery," her voice cracked.
I took a step back, running my hands through my hair as I tried wrapping my mind around the idea.
Backing into the wall, I looked down at my feet. This seemed so impossible.
"What happened?" I managed to ask. "Vanessa Merrell," a doctor called, catching our attention quickly.
The two of us, along with her parents, rushed to the doctor.
"She sustained many injuries from the accident," he began. "What accident? What happened?" Wendy asked. "It was a car accident. An intoxicated driver was in the other vehicle," he said.
I gasped, cupping my hands in front of my face. Roni and Wendy started sobbing again, while Paul tried to remain calm. His eyes were watery. He was hurting just as hard.
"What's happening with her?" I managed to ask. "She's still in surgery. I just wanted to update you all and tell you what's going on. She has a broken wrist, and a sprained ankle. Nothing too bad there. However, there was very slight head trauma given. When we got a CT done, it assured us that there was no major damage. She's stable for now, but-"
"Why is she in surgery?" Roni asked. "There was internal abdominal bleeding. She's stable, as of now, but we're still operating on her," he explained.
"How long will it take until we can see her?" Paul asked. "We don't know yet. When the surgery is complete, or any updates are given, I'll be sure to contact you immediately," he explained.
