Christians POV

I put the last of my boxes into the backseat of my car, before shutting the door.

"I'll come by soon," Crawford said. I nodded, looking back at the house I grew up in. Sighing, I got into the drivers seat, and made my way to my new place.

As I was doing that, I got a call from Vanessa that I quickly answered.

"Hello," I said. "We're on our way, we should be there in about ten or fifteen minutes," she explained. "We?" I asked.

"Roni, Aaron and Isaac are coming to help," she said. I smiled softly, appreciative of that.

"Okay. Tell them I said thank you," I said. "I will. See you soon."

"Bye."

When I got there, I luckily found a parking spot in the garage. Still, though, I had to go up and down to carry boxes. On my way down to get the last few, Nessa called me again.

"Hey," I answered. "Where are you? We're here," she said. "I'm in the garage. Just go up to my apartment, the door should be unlocked. 5C," I said. "Do you want us to help?" She asked. "No, I've just got a few things left. I'll be there in a few," I said. "Okay, bye."

I could already hear them talking when I got to my door, knocking on it with my foot, Vanessa quickly came to open it.

"Woah, be careful," she said, taking one of the boxes. Gradually, her, Roni, Aaron, and Isaac all grabbed the stuff out of my hands, and set them down.

Aaron clapped his hands, looking around.

"Where should we start?"

Hours had passed, and we made some slow progress. Some random pieces of furniture that I brought over were completed, but there was still a lot left to do.

I went to Ikea and bought a couch that luckily was delivered yesterday, so I needed to build that in replacement for my bed that hadn't been delivered.

"Alright, we gotta go, Chris. We'll come back tomorrow and help you again," Aaron said, clapping his hand with mine. "Thanks for helping," I said. He nodded.

I did the same to Roni and Isaac, thanking them, too. As I turned to Nessa, she shook her head. "I'm staying for a little," she said. "Really?" I asked, softly smiling. She nodded. "Okay, deuces losers," Roni smiled, making us let out a soft laugh before the three of them left.

"My whole body is exhausted," I complained, hugging Vanessa softly. I leaned my head against hers, closing her eyes.

"Are you gonna tell me what happened?" She asked. "What do you mean?" I asked, pulling away from the hug.

"Why did you move so suddenly, babe?" She asked. I sighed, sitting on the floor and pulling out the parts of the couch.

"Chris," she sat next to me. "Just.. shit happened," I said. "Okay, I understand that, but what?" She asked.

I shook my head, looking at the instructions. I'd rather have done anything than talk about why I moved.

"I'll find out, eventually," she shrugged, leaning her head on my shoulder.

As soon as she did that, for some reason, I almost lost it. My body stopped moving and I dropped my head, closing my eyes. I easily felt the urge to cry, but refused to let myself.

"What happened?" She lifted her head, putting her hand gently on my back. "Babe," she held the side of my face, making me turn towards her.

I cleared my throat and opened my eyes, exhaling a large breath.
