Vanessa

Roni was already waiting for me in the car. I had to grab everything I needed to go to the doctor.

Telling her wasn't easy. I'm only 19 and now I would be the family's disappointment. But of course this happens after Chris and I broke up.

I was about to leave, but as I opened the door, Chris was standing there. "You can't be here," I immediately said. "Why not? What the hell is going on with you, V?" He asked.

"Chris you need to go, I can't do this right now," I argued, trying to get my way past him. He grabbed my arms and pulled me back in.

"Let me go!" I said. "Tell me what's happening. You lashed out on your best friend earlier. What is going on?" He demanded.

"Chris let go," I said, my eyes growing watery. "Not until you-" "Just let go! If you wanna know so bad then ask after tonight! Ask tomorrow just please not right now!"

"And what's one night gonna do?" He asked. I looked into his eyes. "So much more than you think."

"And what does that mean?" He asked. "Why do you suddenly care? You broke up with me," I argued.

"I regret it, okay? I miss you so much I just need to know why you're acting like this. Or at least if it's because of me."

I couldn't tell him that it wasn't because of him. Because it was. But most of all, I couldn't believe what he told me.

"Forget it," I quietly said, shaking myself out of his grip. "V! V!" He called after me, but I ignored him and continued walking.

I opened the car door and slammed it right behind me. "What-" "Nothing," I cut off Roni, only to correct myself. "Everything."

She began driving, leaving us in silence. From the side view mirror, I saw him still watching. I stared until he was gone.

Chris

I couldn't believe how she acted. I didn't even care how long it would take for her to come back, but I waited anyway.

I watched on her porch, sitting on the steps with my back against the side. The sun began setting and soon it was dark. The porch light flickered on and I was still left by myself. Two hours had already gone by.

Suddenly I heard the wheels of a car slowly roll down the asphalt of the road. Veronica and Vanessa stepped out of the car.

I stood up with my hands in my pockets, as they noticed me. They exchanged glances before Nessa nodded to Roni.

Roni and I gave small smiles to each other before she went inside. Nessa slowly made her way towards the porch.

I opened my mouth to talk but she beat me to it. "Do you still love me?" She asked. I looked at her questionably. "W-what do you mean?" I asked. "Do you... Still love me. Like you did a month ago," she slowly said.

"Of course I do," I sighed. "Then why did you break up with me?" She asked. "I.. I don't know, V," I said.

"Then you don't get to do this," she said. "Do what?"

"Hold my hand, the way you are now." Only then I realized her hand in mine. "You don't get to look at me the way you do, or.. or act like you suddenly care so much," she said.

A small tear trailed down her cheek. "I love you, V," I said, holding her other hand.

She pulled both hands away and wiped her cheeks. "You can't, Chris. You can't keep making me feel-"

I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, connecting my lips with hers. I felt her hands against my chest, as she pulled herself away.

"Please just tell me what's wrong," I pleaded. She held my arm and sat me down next to her.

"Chris I- I'm," she paused. "I'm pregnant. You got me pregnant."

My whole world stopped. I stared at her with a slightly open mouth, as she continued to cry.

"That's why I didn't tell you. I thought you would leave-" "No, no," I cut her off.

"I'm not leaving," I whispered. I put my arm around her waist and let her rest her head on my shoulder.

I gently kissed her head, as she joined a hand with mine. "I love you so much V, you're not doing this alone,"

"Don't. Don't let me do this alone, please Chris," she said. "I won't," I said. "Can I please kiss you," I softly asked.

She looked up at me and leaned closer. I softly cupped her face as our lips molded perfectly.

"I love you," she said, as we parted. "I love you too," I pulled her closer again.

"I promise we're doing this together. All of it."
