I stumbled through the forest. All the time voices ringing in my head, getting louder every step I took. In front of me I saw two figures. One stood over the other with a gun. I lifted my and aimed. "Put it down!" The one with the gun turned to me. "Dax, please put it down."

He shook his head. "You should have stayed down there Athena. I tried not to kill you. Shumway said no witnesses." I shot a quick glance to Bellamy.

"Shumway set it up." Bellamy said sitting up. "He gave me the gun to shoot the Chancellor."

"Walk away Athena, and I won't kill you!"

"Dax put it down." I repeated, this time with more authority.

"Your choice!" Dax aimed his gun at me.

I squeezed the trigger. The gun just clicked. Dud! I looked on horror at Dax who fired his gun. I ducked behind a tree. Bellamy yelled at him and tackled him to the ground. They fought. Dax punched Bellamy causing him to fall. Dax took the opportunity and stood over Bellamy. I ran towards them, gun in hand. I smashed the butt against Dax's head. He turned and punched me in the stomach. I fell to the ground pulling him with me. I punched him over and over again. Knuckles started to bleed. He punched me in the face, cutting my lip and causing my nose to bleed. He flipped me over and started to strangle me. I thrashed about trying to get him off me. After a while I started to go dizzy again. Then. Dax loosened his grip and fell on me. Bellamy was stood behind him.

"You ok?" I gasped as I pushed Dax off me.

He shook his head. "No I'm not!" He knelt by Dax. "My mother. If she knew what I'd done. What I've become." His voice shook. "She raised me to be better, to be good."

I sat and looked at him. "Bellamy!" I whispered

"All I do is hurt people." He sniffed and turned away. "I'm a monster." I could hear him crying. I rushed over to him. Wrapped my arms round his waist.

"You saved my life...for the third time. You maybe an ass at times." I turned him round and looked him straight in the eyes. "I need you! We need you. If it wasn't for you. None of us would have survived this place." I placed a hand gently on his cheek and wiped away the stray tears. "You want forgiveness? Fine I'll give it to you. You're forgiven, ok? But you can't run. You have to come back. You have to face it."

"Like you faced your mum and those guards?"

I laughed. "You're right. I don't want to face either. But we need to."

"Jaha will kill me." I thought for a moment and shook my head.

"Not if we tell him who wants him dead. Just please don't go!" He pulled me into a hug. "You knew didn't you?" I pulled away and looked at him. "What the guards did to me?" He nodded gently.

"I tried to stop it, but I was a cadet. They told me it wasn't my place. They told me it's what all the prisoners got." I shook my head at him.

"No just me! I don't know why! Maybe cus I was the only one who had a cell to themselves. Well the only one who wasn't in solitary."

"They never told me what they did. I just heard rumours." I leaned against his chest.

"I thought the abuse would finish when I was in the skybox. I was wrong. It got worse. It wasn't just hitting!" I felt hot tears starting to fall from my face.

"We don't need to talk about it now!" He soothed. "Let's get the guns and blankets and go home." I smiled at him and nodded.

"Athena!" I turned and saw Clarke running towards me. "Can you get Bellamy for me. Jaha wants to talk to him." I raised my eyebrows. I couldn't believe the Chancellor was actually willing to talk to him. I ran off and found Bellamy talking to Octavia.

"Bell!" I called out. The pair of them looked up. "Jaha wants to talk to you." I could see him gulp at the mere mention of Jaha. He looked at Octavia, who nodded for him to go. "I'll be there every step of the way. If you want." He nodded and we walked into a tent that Raven had set up to be a communications station. She handed us both headphones and indicated for us to sit.

We sat facing a small screen. Jaha's face appeared causing my excitement to vanish. Although I had been pardoned. I knew that there was a small chance that Bellamy might not be. After all trying to kill the Chancellor was punishable by death no matter your age. I gently placed a hand on Bellamy's knee telling him it would be ok.

"Mr Blake, I've been wanting to talk to you for sometime now." The Chancellor started.

"Before you continue." I interrupted. "I'd like to say something." Jaha nodded. "When you sent us down here, you sent us to die, but miraculously. Most of us are still alive and in large part that's because of Bellamy. He's a great leader. His skills and knowledge have saved us on a number of occasions. He even saved my life three times. He's one of us and deserves to be pardoned."

"Athena." The screen glitched briefly. "I appreciate your view. But it's not that simple."

I groaned inwards. My worst fears were coming true. "It is if you want to know who on the Ark wants you dead," I looked at Bellamy and smiled.

I saw the Chancellor look down briefly and then back at us. "Bellamy Blake." He started "you are pardoned for your crimes." I had to stop myself for screaming. "Now! Tell me who gave you the gun."
