We returned back to camp. Finn and Clarke ran towards the dropship carrying Jasper. I stopped by a log and watched Bellamy and Murphy drop the panther on the ground. Dinner is going to be good tonight I thought.
I walked over to the dropship to see if I could be of any help. I got there and saw Clarke and Monty cleaning the wound. I stepped up to the table and held Jasper's hand, smiling at him I shushed him like a mother would a child. After about an hour, I decided there was nothing I could do so decided to get some air. I stepped out and saw some of the other kids lining up. I walked over and saw that in order to get food they had to remove their wristbands. As much as I didn't want my mother down here. I knew Clarke and Monty had family on the Ark. I wasn't prepared to risk their lives for food. I walked over and grabbed a bit of meat from the fire. Murphy tried to grab me. I turned to Bellamy. "Whatever the hell we want right?" I popped the meat in my mouth and walked away. I could feel his eyes on me as I walked away.
I found Octavia sitting on a log sans wristband. I shook my head as I sat down. "He likes you!" I looked at her confused. "Bellamy." She smiled at me offering some of the meat she had. I took some and shook my head, smiling.
"No he don't!" I chewed on the food contemplating what Octavia had just said. "Let's say he does. How would you know? All I've seen is girls coming in and out of his tent since we got here." I heard Octavia laugh.
"I see the way he looks at you when you're around." She looked at me. "You wait and see." We sat in silence watching the fire. Through the flames I could see Bellamy looking at me. I could faintly make out a smile. I fell asleep against the log. I woke up to screaming from the dropship. I stood up and a jacket, which wasn't mine, fell off me. Who? Before I could even finish my thought I saw Octavia running into the dropship.
"Stop it. You're killing him." I heard her say as I entered.
"She's trying to save his life." Finn huffed correcting her.
"She can't!" Bellamy walked in behind me without his jacket. Now I knew who's it was.
"We didn't drag him through miles of woods, just to let him die." Clarke looked up at him from what she was doing.
"Kids a goner, if you can't see that you're deluded. He's making people crazy." Bellamy was right and I know it's bad as Jasper is my friend, but it's been three days and he hasn't shown any sign of improvement.
"Sorry if Jasper's an inconvenience for you!" I spat at him. "This isn't the Ark. Down here, every life matters." I stormed out of the dropship. Standing outside I could hear the final part of the conversation. My heart sunk at what was being said. Bellamy came out the dropship, looked at me and continued to walk. "You can't kill him." I hit out.
"If he's not better by tomorrow. I will." I threw his jacket at him. Disgusted at the fact he could even suggest killing. I stalked off towards the forest. "You any good with a knife." I turned to see a calmer Bellamy stood behind me. I scoffed at him.
"Don't try and butter me up." I folded my arms turning my back to him.
"I'm not and are you?" I nodded to him turning. "Good." He tossed me a makeshift knife. "You're coming with me."
I turned the knife over in my hand. "I'm not going anywhere! If he is!" I pointed to Murphy.
"Murphy you stay here." Murphy shot a look to Bellamy. "Keep the camp safe."
Murphy glared at me. "Fine."

We had been walking about in the forest for over an hour. Quite frankly, I was getting bored. Earth wasn't like they made out in the books. Bellamy stopped in front of me, crouching. I followed suit. I looked out and saw a black bore. Bellamy told me and Atom that it was his kill. He snuck forward raising his axe. As he got closer a twig snapped. He spun round throwing the axe. It narrowly missed a little girls head. Bellamy sprinted over to her as Atom and a few others ran after the bore.
"Who the hell are you?" Bellamy asked sounding pretty irate.
"Charlotte." She squeaked.
Bellamy crouched down in front of her. "I almost killed you." He pulled the axe out from the tree. "Why aren't you at camp?"
"Well with that guy dying. I just, I couldn't listen anymore."
"There are Grounders out here." I saw Atom come back. "It's too dangerous for little girls." He said.
"I'm not little!" She tried to make herself sound tough. I chuckled she was cute. Bellamy looked impressed too.
"Okay, but you can't hunt!" He pulled out a spare knife. "Without a knife." She took it gingerly. "You ever killed anything before?" She shook her head. "You never know. You might be good at it." I cringed at the thought. She's a child, she shouldn't need to kill. But I could help but smile at how he was with her.

As we all walked through the forest I turned to see a yellow fog coming towards us. "Ah Bellamy?" He turned to look at me. "What the hell is that?" He looked at where I was pointing.
His eyes grew wide. "Run!" I grabbed Charlotte by the hand and ran. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. My blood pumping in my ears. As we ran I could feel the fog gaining on us. The stinging in my eyes caused them to water. Atom suddenly fell, turning to see if he got up caused me to fall and injure my arm.
"Bellamy!" Charlotte screamed. He turned and picked me up. He went to go back for Atom, but it was too late. The fog had covered him. Bellamy turned back to us and pushed us into a nearby cave.
We stayed in the cave as the fog continued outside. Charlotte was asleep and it was just Bellamy and I. "Why did you come back for me?" I asked out of curiosity.
"I wasn't just gonna leave you." He said staring at his hands. I smiled and nodded. "This is the second time I've saved you."
"Yea." I pursed my lips. "And?" He chuckled and sat next to me. He looked down at my arm. "I fell on it." I answered his unspoken question.
He gently took my arm and pulled the sleeve up. I winced as the pain shot through my arm. "Think you may have sprained it. I won't know until Clarke looks at it." I nodded and yawned. "You tired?"
"Gee you don't miss a thing do you." I laughed.
"Get some rest." I nodded and took my jacket off to use as a pillow. During the night a gut wrenching scream echoed through the cave. I bolted up right and saw Charlotte thrashing about.
"No!" She screamed, still asleep! I walked over to Bellamy who was gently waking her up. "I'm sorry." She said slightly embarrassed.
"Does it happen often?" Bellamy asked gently. She gave him an answer. "What are you scared of? You know what?" He said shaking his head. "It doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what you do about it!"
"But...I'm asleep." She said sounding confused.
"Fears are fears. Slay your demons when you're awake, they won't be there when you sleep."
"Yeah but how?"
"You can't afford to be weak. Down here weakness is death. Fear is death." I looked at him curious as to where he was going. "Let me see that knife I gave you." She dug into her pocket and handed it to him. "Now when you feel afraid." He held it up, "you hold tight to the knife and say 'screw you im not afraid.'" He handed it back to her.
"Screw you, I'm not afraid." She said quietly. She glanced at Bellamy seeing him smile. "Screw you I'm not afraid!" She said again this time with more force.
Both Bellamy and I laughed. "Slay your demons kid. Then you'll be able to sleep!" She snuggled back down and fell fast asleep. I walked back to my jacket smiling at Bellamy.
"Didn't think you were the 'paternal' type." I said looking at him. He laughed and shrugged.
"I was just helping a kid out." He said matter of factly. I nodded staring at him.
"This macho exterior image you put on. It doesn't work on me." He looked at me confused. "I can see a gentler, nicer person."
He huffed. "Don't know what you're talking about." I chuckled, nodded and laid back down. I watched as he laid his head against the wall. I watched as he slowly fell asleep. He'd shown a different side of him. A side no one, other than Octavia knew about. I knew the moment we left the cave he would go back to the Bellamy I see every day in camp.
