Unity Day

That evening I felt like a whole weight had lifted. The atmosphere around camp was lighter. People were dancing and singing. It was Unity Day in the Ark. so we decided to celebrate down here. I was drinking a cup of Monty's famous moonshine. Bellamy walked over to me. "Thank you!" He said as we both looked into the fire.

"For what?"

"For saving me with Dax, for believing that I would be pardoned. For looking after O in the skybox." He shrugged. "I could go on." I laughed.

"Like I said when we landed. She saved me in the skybox," I looked at him and saw a girl approaching from behind. She touched his arm and whispered in his ear. He smiled and looked at me. I continued to look into the fire as I took a sip of the moonshine. The girl looked at me, and pulled Bellamy away. "Bitch!" I muttered to myself when they weren't within ear shot.

"Someone's jealous!" I turned to see Clarke walk over. I laughed.

"No! If Bellamy wants to sleep around then fine. Whatever the hell he wants right?" I walked away and back over to the drinks table. I asked for another cup, Jasper looked at me smiling.

"This is your fourth cup Athena. You sure you can handle it?" If I didn't know Jasper better I'd say he was challenging me. We both knew I was always up for a challenge. I nodded and took the cup. I downed it in one. Feeling the warmth of it burn my throat slightly. I didn't care. I just needed to get my mind off of Bellamy and what was going on in the tent. After about my sixth cup Monty wouldn't give me anymore. Told me I'd had plenty and I needed to sleep.

"I don't need sleep." I slurred. "I need to party!" I yelled. "Whatever the hell I want right?" Everyone cheered! I climbed onto a log near the fire and balanced on it.

"Athena!" I looked over my shoulder and saw Clarke coming towards me.

"Hey, princess. Come to join in." I said stepping down.

"How much have you had?" She asked trying to take the cup from me. I snatched it back and looked over to Bellamy's tent when I saw movement. Jasper had gone and woken him. He came out without a shirt on. I rolled my eyes at the sight. He looked at me and laughed.

"Best Unity Day ever!" He stated as I downed another cup.

"For you maybe!" My voice laced with disgust, betrayal and hate. I didn't even know why I felt that way. It's not as if Bellamy and I were a thing. As I walked away Bellamy grabbed my wrist.

"Bed now!" I glared at him. I knew he was right. I groaned as he guided me to my tent. He lifted the flap and ushered me in. I tripped and fell on my cot.

I giggled as I landed "Ouch!" I turned and looked at Bellamy. "You know you don't have to look after me?" He nodded, placed a blanket over me and left.

I woke the next morning with a pounding headache. I left my tent, blinking at the morning light. I saw Clarke and Finn talking quietly. "Good morning." Clarke laughed coming over to me. I grumbled to her. "Yeah! Someone has a sore head!" I giggled at her remark, gripping my head in the process. "Have you seen Bellamy?" I shook my head. "Good! If you do, try and keep him here."

"Why where are you going?" She looked at me contemplating whether to answer me.

"The Grounders want to meet. We are hoping to make peace." She said as she walked away.

"Ok and how, exactly!" I ran after her. "Am I suppose to keep Bellamy here?" Clarke grinned at me. "Oh no! No no no! I'm not turning into one of his groupies."

"Have fun!" With that her and Finn  left the camp. I paced in front of the dropship, not knowing what to do. I saw Bellamy come towards me.

"Hey! Where have you been?" I asked.

"Hunting! Why?" I looked at him and took a deep breath. After I was finished telling him what had happened he gathered a group of us and we left. We got to the clearing where we saw the meet. I was gob smacked at the sight in front of me. Horses. They had freaking horses. Suddenly there was movement in the trees.

I looked up. "They're going to fire!" I whispered to Bellamy.

"They're going to shoot!" Jasper screamed. "Clarke run." He stared shooting at the trees. I saw a knife being pulled. I aimed my rifle and fired. The bullet hit thengrounder knocking her back. I saw Finn, Clarke, Octavia and Lincoln the grounder we had captive run. Lincoln was hit by an arrow. Octavia went back to him.

I could see them talking. Lincoln pushed Octavia towards Clarke. I could hear her calling to him and trying to get out of Clarke's grasp. "Go!" I heard him yell to them. They ran towards me. Clarke looked at me, I could tell she was pissed at me. I could hear a small arguement behind me.

I turned to see Octavia looking at Jasper. "You ruined everything." She snarled at him then walked back to camp.

"I saved you!" He yelled watching her walk away.

"Well, if we weren't at war already. We sure as hell are now!" Finn scoffed, I glared at him. "You didn't have to trust the Grounders. You just have to trust me!" He scowled at Bellamy and walked away.

"Like I said, best Unity Day ever." I looked at him shaking his heard.

A loud noise over head caused everyone to look up. A ball of light was shooting across the sky. "The Exodus ship?" I questioned.

"Clarke, your mum's early." Bellamy stated looking to Clarke.

Clarke was smiling, pure happiness shining on her face. That happiness soon faded. "Wait?" Her eyebrows furrowed. "Too fast! No parachute. Something's wrong!" The ship dropped below the mountain line. A flash of light lit up the sky. Then a mushroom cloud appear. The ship had crashed!

Clarke dropped to her knees. Muttering no over and over again. I knelt down next to her, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry!" I whispered.

We decided to go and check for survivors. Highly unlikely, the ship was coming in too fast. I walked around the crash sight kicking up bits of ash and metal. I saw Raven looking at something. I went over to have a look "Athena stop!" I froze looking at Raven holding out her arm.

"Rocket fuel?" Clarke asked.

"Hydrazine!" I gave her a look of what is that. "Highly unstable in its non solid form. If this stuff meets fire, we're all pink mist." She picked up a rocket and threw it. "Fire in the hole." The silence was broken by a loud explosion. "We need to clear the area."

"Ok then" Bellamy said coming to my side. "We move in formation, no straggling, weapons hot. We make it back before dark." I nodded at him.
