chapter 1

(giuliana's pov)
i wake up at 9 on this bright morning with the sun blinding my eyes. once my eyes adjust, i check my phone. i see i have a few direct messages on instagram, but one catches my eye.

@/girlgroupabc : good morning giuliana! we've watched your videos on youtube and instagram and we are very impressed! as you know, there is a show on abc called boy band. we are creating a show called girl group. it has the same idea, just with girls. we have contacted 100 girls to come audition for us. please consult your guardian about this. please respond asap! if you decide to come along on this adventure, we will give you more details. we hope to hear back from you soon.

what. the. hell. and if you are wondering, yes i post videos of myself singing on youtube and instagram. but no, i do not have a large following. i have about 5k on instagram, 6k on youtube and 1.5k on twitter. singing is my passion and i would love to pursue a career in it. but i don't know if this is legit or not. i'm really hoping it is though, this could be my moment. i run to my parents' room. thankfully they are awake because i scream at the top of my lungs explaining what just happened.
"number one, calm down" my dad says laughing.
"number two, THIS IS FANTASTIC! I ALWAYS KNEW YOU HAD SOMETHING HUGE IN YOU!" he screams as he and my mom hug me.
"number three, back to reality. is this real?" he asks.
"i honestly have no clue. i really hope it is though." i say.
"how do you feel about this jules? if this is real, would you want to do this?" my moms asks.
"i'm hopeful that this is real and i would do it in a heartbeat." i say, smiling like an idiot.
"what happens if it is real?" my dads asks.
"you never know until you try, right?" i say smiling to them.
i run to the kitchen to get some water and to compose myself. when i'm in there, i see my older brother, nick.
"what the hell were you just screaming about?" he asks while laughing.
"read." i say as i hand him my phone.
"HOLY SHIT JULES THIS IS GREAT!" he practically screams while he jumps up to hug me. i've always loved how close i am with my brother. we've always been super supportive of eachother.
"but jules, do you think its real?" he asks.
"i'm gonna dm them back and we'll hope for the best" i say smiling. i sit at the table across from my brother and begin to write a message back.

almost immediately they respond.

@/girlgroupabc : great to hear! this will be taking place in los angeles in a week from today. we will fly you and your guardian from your home in new york to here five days from now. the day you get here can be used to meet some of the girls and get settled. we will have a note in your room reminding you about this but at 8pm, everyone should be here. we will meet in the meeting room to explain things in further detail. the following day could be used to preparation for the following day. we will need you for atleast one week. depending on how far you come in the competition, the most we will need you is about three months for the competition. we also have hotels covered for all contestants and their family members. please prepare a cover of a full song of your choice to perform infront of the producers. we will email flight and hotel information to your business email. we can't wait to see you!

i. am. dead. oh and i also forgot to mention, I LOVE BOYBAND! they're all so talented and hopefully they have something to do with this. and if they do i will literally die. i call my parents into the kitchen so i can tell my whole family together. after explaining, everyone seems onboard.
"i can take off of work for the week you are definitely needed cause i didnt use any vacation days yet. how about you mark?" my mom says and asks my dad.
"as much as i would love to, i dont think i can take off i'm just too busy here. anyway, i have to keep an eye out for nick." my said says laughing to my brother.
"yeah... okay. but in all seriousness we can always come at a later point in time since its summer still. we're so proud of you." my brother says wiping away fake tears.
"aw cute family moment! group hug mi familia!!!" i say as i pull them in. i cannot wait to see what comes in the near future.
