chapter 2

(giuliana's pov)
today's the day! my family and i woke up at 5 am to finish last minute packing. everyone is still half asleep though. i change into a comfy outfit because this flight might be a while.

i leave my light brown hair in its natural waves and put on white converse. i go bare faced since its just a flight and i could look like i horror show if i want to. our flight is at 9 am but we have to leave my house at 7 am because it takes about 30 minutes to get there and there's probably going to be traffic.
i get together my carry on after i get dressed. i get a black backpack and i put in my macbook, earbuds, gum and makeup for later in. i only packed a weeks worth of outfits and if i need more i could aways ask my dad to send it over.
its now about 7:15 am, always running late, and we are on our way to the airport. my dad and brother are dropping us off there. i get in the backseat with my brother and lay my head on his shoulder and we both take a quick nap.
we wake up and we are here. althought i didnt want to, i did tear up alittle thinking about how i might not see my dad and brother for a few weeks. i hug them both super tight as they wish my good luck.
"love you guys!" i scream.
"you're gonna kill it out there! la better watch out!" my brother says.
my mom and i walk inside and do all the boring pre flight stuff. once everything is done, we sit in the waiting area.
"thank you so much for everything mom. it means a lot that you were willing to do this for me." i say to my mom while hugging her.
"anything for my baby." my mom says.
"flight 103 to lax boarding" the person over the speaker says. once i hear that, i jump up and squeeze my mom's hand.
"this is it" i say smiling with the biggest smile ever. i'm terrified, but in a good way.
once we find our seats and the plane takes off, i close my eyes. i cant help myself from being so excited that i'll be in the same city as the boys. especially michael. he's my favorite. he's just so talented. ugh, i just grin at the thought of him.

i wake up the my mom shaking me slightly. i open my eyes and realize we are here. in la. where my dreams can possibly come true. once we get off the plane, i call an uber to take us to our hotel.
we hop in and say hi to the driver. i go on my phone and scroll through instagram. i like a few pictures and follow a few fans.

before i know it, we are at the hotel. i post on my snapchat a picture of my legs with an la geotag.
i walk into the lobby but stumble over my feet. im 99% sure i just saw chance. as in chance perez. from boyband. i almost lose it and my mom definitely noticed because she smirked and elbowed me. she knows how much i love the show. since im an awkward potato, i dont say hi.
in the email i was sent last week, i was told all the contestants would have the floor to ourselves. when i get out of the elevator and onto the floor our room is on, i see a couple girls and their moms entering. i wave at them and one of them says
"hi guys im ellie. in like ten minutes do y'all wanna meet up and get food because im starving."
we all say sure and head into our rooms. the room is nice and it has two beds thankfully. i put down my suitcase and take out my make up. since i want to make a good first impression but not look like a try hard, i put on minimal makeup. i put on tarte mascara, some mac lip glass and a little tarte shape tape concealer (i suck at makeup so sorry if this is terrible lol). once i am done i tell my mom i'm gonna head out and meet some girls. when i walk outside, i see the four girls i saw before. we walk downstairs and decide to go to in n out. since its not too hot we decided too walk and we got there pretty quick. once we all order and get our food, we sit in a booth a little too small for all of us.
"oh my god im stupid and i forgot we don't know eachother. my name is giuliana rissani but you can call me jules if you want" i say. the other girls all introduce themselves. they're named kaylee preeden, kennedy fitzeni, ellie smith and nicolette stone. nicolette and i ended up actually being on the same flight. but she's from staten island and im from long island. we were talking about how its super weird because its only alittle after 12 but back home its around 3. we talk for a while, about an hour until we decide we should probably go back and see if anyone else got there.
"guys before we get back i have a little suprise/secret" i say.
"what is it?" kaylee asks.
"do you guys watch boyband?" i ask. everyone nods and praises the show.
"i saw chance. we are in the same hotel as them." i say. thankfully we are outside and they could scream.
"please don't say anything though because i dont know if we are supposed to know. lets just keep it between us five, kay?"
everyone agrees and we walk back to the hotel.
"i still cant believe you saw him. is he as hot in real life as he is on tv?" kennedy asks.
"even hotter" i say laughing.
"who are your favorites?" i ask.
kaylee says hers is marcus, ellie's is mikey, kennedy's is chance and nicolette's is jay.
"who's yours?" kennedy asks.
"michael 100%" i say.
"guys we should make a groupchat with us 5" i say. they all agree and we exchange numbers and name the group chat "top 5️⃣".
not too long later, we get back to the hotel. tons of more girls came and all of them seem really nice. i talk the most to nicolette and i could tell we are going to be great friends. since we are all here for the same reason, we decide we should sing a little until we have to go to the meeting later. we have about an hour. we sing in the hallway since its just us on the floor. we sing broadway songs and disney songs and pop songs and country songs and tons of other songs. i could tell this is going to be an amazing journey.
