Saffron, White and Green

Soul stringed kings were churned
By the puppeteers of the crown,
Which fancied the light of the world
And broke Bengal to begin

Dyer's dare to do a paintjob,
On the walls of Jallianwalah Bagh,
And Simon's welcome gift- black flags
All for the saffron, white and green

Injuries to Lala and the nation bled,
Gandhiji fasted and the nation starved,
Famines were fought and the lords,
For the saffron, white and green

Netaji travelled the world around,
Under the sea, under brave retreat
To sculpt Azad hind fauj from dust,
Faith and the will to die
For the saffron, white and green

Golden history was plated with tin,
And tin did fly when voices raised
Became a tool, the strongest one,
With non-violence the war was won
For the saffron, white and green...
