chapter seven

There wasn't a moment in the day where Alec wasn't thinking of Magnus. His smirking smile or the curves and bumps of his body. Admitting that he had feelings for Magnus was something that Alec wasn't about to do; he wasn't ready to admit it and until someone put him in his place he would keep on pretending.

Ever since Maryse told Alec to invite Magnus around after their first meeting at the beach, Alec had been tempted to ask Magnus to spend the night. The thought of Magnus finding out the truth about his age was a constant fear to Alec, as well as the fear of his mother finding out his true self.

Alec wasn't sure where Maryse stood with her views on homosexuality, but he had always imagined the worse when thinking of coming out to her. His father wasn't as prejudice, but there was still the chance that he was ignorant. Alec's parents were from a different time, and were raised in a different world.

A world where there were no gay characters in TV shows, no openly gay singers, no pride festivals. Young people today have no idea how good they have it, even though there is still so much hate in this world and a lot of progression needed.

Even though there was big risk in inviting Magnus around, Alec took his chances and asked Magnus. He couldn't help it. He needed to see him. Alec's suspension from school had finished, and so Alec told Magnus that he had to go to college, but he'll meet him after. Lying to Magnus was getting harder and harder, but if Magnus found out that Alec wasn't even legal, who knows what would happen. He was too deep now to confess.

Magnus and Alec constantly texted, no matter what time of day, and it meant that Alec knew a lot about Magnus now. Their bond was growing stronger and stronger, and it both scared and excited Alec.

Alec sat with Jace, the two of them watching Isabelle audition to be a cheerleader in the school gym. She was really nervous, and looked adorably beautiful in the cheer costume. Alec and Jace sat on the bleachers, there for moral support.

Isabelle looked up at them and smiled, waving nervously. They waved back with big grins, Jace even hooting loudly, to which Isabelle glared at him for. "Any new boys you're interested in, then? Or are you still sticking with just the one?" Jace eventually asked Alec with a knowing smirk, crossing his arms over his chest and sitting back.

Alec sighed and rolled his eyes, "You make it seem like I want him to get down on one knee and propose, Jace. Magnus is nice, and I like him, but I wouldn't say I like-like him. I'm known for being a slut, and so I'm going to keep on being one. After I get bored of Magnus, that is."

Jace let out a slight laugh, turning to look back at Alec. "And what if you never get bored of Magnus?" Alec opened his mouth to reply, eventually just shutting it and giving Jace a deadpanned look.

 "That's what I thought," Jace said smugly, raising his eyebrows at Alec. Isabelle still had a few more girls in front of her before it was her turn to audition, so Alec figured she wouldn't be completely offended if he took his phone out right now.

He had a few texts from Magnus, unlocking his phone with a smile. Magnus was talking about how he was excited to see him later, with a photo of him holding a tiny kitten in the mirror. He told Alec how his friend bought a cat a few weeks earlier, but went on vacation, and so he was taking care of it for him.

Alec: that is the cutest thing i've ever seen

Magnus: i know i'm adorable but look at this cat!!

Alec: ha ha so funny. where is the cat going when you come around tonight?

Magnus: am i not allowed to bring her around? she's very friendly, and i'm sure your siblings will love her when we're getting downnn ;)
