Grasping time for themselves sometimes seemed extremely difficult for both Alec and Magnus. They both were trying to find more stable jobs, as neither of them wanted to do porn anymore. Porn would always have a special place in their hearts, but sex with other people was out of the question. They could keep their kinky sex to themselves.

Today was an instance where they had time to spend with each other; and it started as perfectly as it ended. They both awoke early; it seemed unnatural to wake up any later than 9am on Christmas morning. Magnus had never really liked Christmas for years, mainly because he didn't have anyone to celebrate it with.

This year, though, he had Alec, and his family came with him. Alec had never been entirely big on Christmas, not since he was younger, although he always spent the day with his family eating food and laughing at crappy Christmas programmes on the TV. It was a day he looked forward to.

Magnus woke up first, his arms wrapped around Alec's, much like the polka-dot wrapping paper wrapped around the presents sitting under the tree downstairs. His eyes fluttered open, squinting at the winter sun stretching down the carpeted floor to the bed that Alec and Magnus laid in.

A smile graced his face when he looked down and saw Alec sleeping, a couple strands of black hair swaying in the wind of Alec's steady breaths, moving repeatedly to his lips and then back out again. Magnus rolled his head to the side, looking at the digital clock on Alec's beside table. The numbers read '8:37'.

Waking Alec up seemed cruel; he looked so content and innocent that Magnus wished he could sit there and stare forever. As Magnus watched and gazed, there was a flicker of movement on Alec's soft features. His nose scrunched up slightly and his eyelids began to flutter, opening slowly to reveal the deep hazel colour Alec's irises had.

"I missed those eyes," Magnus said through a toothy smile, seeing the same smile reflect on Alec's features, stretching to the feature that Magnus loved so much; his excellent eyes. Alec rubbed a hand over his eyes, saying softly, "Merry Christmas." Magnus mirrored his words, leaning in quickly and leaving a delicate peck on Alec's cheek, slipping out of his embrace and heading towards the bathroom.

Alec pouted, "I can't believe you woke me up and now you're leaving." Magnus turned to him, still walking in the opposite direction, saying with an amused laugh, "I'm going to the toilet, I won't be a minute. You're acting as if I'm never coming back." Alec smiled at him adoringly, watching him potter away.

The love that Alec felt for Magnus grew every second, he didn't know he had that kind of affection in his heart for anyone. Just the thought of Magnus could make his heart flutter. Alec used to use porn and sex as a way to fill that void he felt of love and how he could never show it, so he couldn't receive it. As soon as he realised his love for Magnus, every other relationship just fell into place.

Magnus returned very promptly, Alec avoiding his touch before Magnus promised he had washed his hands thoroughly, making them both laugh. Alec said he wanted to go open presents, Magnus offering if he wanted to ride on his back because he knew how tired he would be, Alec cooing and jumping on before Magnus could change his mind.

"My boyfriend is so strong and muscular, he can carry my 6-foot ass around; how lucky am I!" Alec exclaimed dramatically, nuzzling the side of his face into Magnus', smiling widely when he felt Magnus' laugh vibrate through the skin on his cheek. "You're light for a 6-foot boy," Magnus replied, turning to kiss Alec.

Alec's eating disorder had improved rapidly recently, although there were still some small things that would set Alec off. He hadn't relapsed by purging for weeks, and sometimes the depression waves hit him at random times. But, Magnus was always there to help him back to whatever was normal.

Magnus walked the two of them out of Alec's room, bringing up a fist to knock on Isabelle and Jace's room. A few months after Max died, Isabelle felt comfortable enough to take his place in Jace's room, as Alec was the oldest and so automatically didn't have to share. It made it easier for Magnus to stay over too, which happened a lot.

Unsurprisingly, Jace did have someone who could stay over, although surprisingly not Clary. No, this was someone who he had known for a while but no one ever thought that anything would come of it. That was because no one knew Jace was bisexual, and this person was Simon Lewis. Jace and Simon were never close, in fact they never got along because of some stupid feud over Clary. They got over that, and in their fight for her love, realised how great the other was.

The door opened, Jace grumpily opening the door, his blond hair sticking up in all directions. "I get that it's Christmas, but being up this early is practically a tragedy." Isabelle leaped out of bed as soon as her eyes opened, squealing about how it was the best day of the whole year. She pushed past Jace and into the hall, throwing her arms over Magnus and Alec.

"Christmas cheer for everyone," Isabelle grinned, then hugging Jace, who looked happier now that Isabelle's screeching had sobered him up from his sleep. The four of them headed downstairs, figuring that Maryse and Robert would make their own way down when they were ready. Jace certainly learnt that waking them up wasn't a good idea after walking in on them last Christmas morning; it scarred him.

Isabelle put on the TV, smiling when she saw that The Grinch was on, turning it down slightly before sitting down next to her pile of presents that Maryse set out. Magnus set Alec down softly next to him, letting his hand brush over Alec's tenderly, the penguin-patterned blue pyjama bottoms that Alec wore tickling their hands.

"Is Simon coming over? I bought him a present," Alec asked Jace, waving a small present, badly wrapped, in the air. Jace smiled, "He's coming over later for Christmas dinner; he kinda wanted to have a lie-in this morning." Alec nodded, moving on quickly. Everyone began to open presents and give thanks to the person who bought it, genuinely happy with every gift.

Alec's heart was full of joy as everyone opened their gifts, the long beaming smile never slipping from his face throughout the whole morning. Maryse and Robert eventually came down, all smiles and cheer. The atmosphere was so powerfully happy, it almost made Alec's heart burst.

The good mood continued for the entire day, as everyone ate and drank and laughed. As Alec and Magnus laid by the spitting fire, hand in hand, watching the dull flames roar and soar up into the chimney, the rest of the chatter died around them. Everyone either headed to bed or sat in a comfortable silence.

Left in the room were Jace and Simon, and Alec and Magnus. Jace and Simon were too wrapped in their own conversation to notice that Magnus and Alec slipped away into the garden, Alec asking what they were doing there, as Magnus pulled him outside.

It was lightly snowing, the small droplets of fairytale-like flakes falling from the pitch-black sky and onto the two of them, their dark hair catching some. Magnus held Alec's warm hands in front of him, his eyes flickering between Alec's confused pair.

"I just wanted to tell you how lucky you've made me feel these past weeks, months, we've been together. It seems like an eternity, both for bad and good reasons, that we've known each other. Today has been so great, and I wanted it to end the same way. I love you, so much. More than you'll ever know." Magnus said softly, his sweet words making Alec's stomach jitter and a smile rise to his features.

Alec replied, "I have never cherished and adored someone as much as I do you, Magnus. I love you too." The two of them giggled, realising how serious they sounded. Magnus looked up, seeing a bundle of mistletoe hanging above them, attached to the garden door.

"Why, would you look at that?" Magnus said teasingly, following Alec's eyes up to the mistletoe. Alec grinned and laughed slightly, telling Magnus how cheesy this was. Magnus insisted he didn't care, leaning in and pressing his lips against Alec's firmly.

No feeling ever compared to the touch of one another. No lust was as strong as the lust that they had for each other. No connection would ever compare.
