They were sitting together eating a picnic lunch in their yard, "Do you like the house Eddie?"

"Yes, who handled the decorations?"

"My sisters, their husbands the repairs."

"How big is the lot?"

"Ten acres I think, this was one of the original ribbon farms when the colony was new."

"Look how big Blue has gotten," Gabby said.

"He almost knocked me over trying to land on my shoulder the other day," Jolene said, "He was terrified he had hurt me, and apologized repeatedly. What do you think of my pasties, these one's stayed together."

"They were excellent," Gabby said with Ana agreeing.

"Those other three dragons are really different," Edward said, "So tiny and delicate."

"Mother Ruth said they were Wyvern," Jolene said, "Some people call them butterfly dragons."

"They are very colorful," Edward said.

"We named the girls Pixie and Dixie," Ana said, "They love mischief."

"Shep is the boy," Gabby said, "he likes to show off, he's really good at shifting colors and patterns."

"Males are always good at showing off," Jolene said looking at Edward with a teasing smile."

"And girls at mischief," Edward responded blandly.

"When will our ponies get here?" Gabby asked.

"Tomorrow now that the barn repairs are finished and the fence up."

"Ed, do you want to hire stable-man or do you want me too?"

"I have someone in mind Jo, I'll handle it."

"Are we getting baby sheep?" Gabby asked.

"It's September now, so in the spring," Jolene answered.

"Tomorrow is your birthday, both of you."

"Can we tell everyone we're twins?" Ana asked.

"I don't see why not, Elody likes to claim were quints."

"What are we getting for our birthday?" Gabby asked.

"A great big birthday spanking," Jolene teased.

"Where did all the chickens and goats come from Jo?"

"My sisters, they had too many."

"Maybe Blue could eat a few," Edward teased.

"Blue prefers fish," Gabby said.

"And he don't eat pets," Ana added.

"In the spring we can milk the nanny goats," Jolene said.

"And eat the billy's," Edward added.

"We're all having an outdoor dinner at Elody's tonight."

"Is that why you were baking bread and pies?"

"Yes."

"You mentioned you hired a cook."

"She starts Monday, the same day I start school."

"Would you like me to walk you to school?"

"You always have Ed, I would love it."

"I just don't know what to do with myself Jo."
