"Come walk with me Eddie." Edward took her hand as they walked together.

"I'm so glad you skipped school today, I love having you to myself. Where are we going now?"

"Someplace private. One of my teachers knows you."

"Samuel?"

"Yes, he ask me if I was Tiger in class yesterday."

"What did you say?"

"Yes. You have been so nice walking me to school and then home."

"It seems to be one of the only ways I can get you to myself."

"A little jealous?" Edward was speechless for a long time.

"Yes, I'm ashamed to admit."

"It's a normal human feeling."

"Yes, but I am an adult. I should be in better control."

"What are you jealous of...you can tell me."

"The dragons of course."

"I can see that, but you mean much more to me than my dragons."

"It really is hard to say this, but I'm jealous of the girls too."

"It takes a real man to admit that Ed."

"I am still ashamed, at first I was angry and didn't know why."

"I thought you were, but you really never took it out on any one. You have been wonderful."

"Then I realized I was jealous."

"I get jealous too."

"About what sweetheart?"

"You have such an easy way with people. You fit in. I feel like a constant sore thumb."

"Even around me?"

"I feel loved when I'm with you. Even as little girl I loved being close to you. I remember when you got that puppy."

"You were jealous I had a puppy?"

"No, I was jealous you liked the puppy more than me." Edward looked at her.

"I have never loved anyone or anything more than I love you."

"I know that now. Being jealous is just a feeling Ed. What counts is how you deal with those feelings."

"How am I doing in that?"

"Pretty darn good. Oh, look a pond!" Jolene said pretending to be surprised. She unbuttoned the bodice of her long dress and let it fall to the ground. Edward gasped seeing her standing at the edge of the pond, her skin glowing in the moonlight. "Come swim with me?"

"I would love to!"

"No cutoffs allowed Ed." Edward laughed and stripped off his clothes and boots and carried her into the pond.

"Waters rather cool," Edward said.

"Just hold me tighter, I'll keep you warm," she said. He laughed.

"Just looking at you Jo makes me heat up."

"I want to jump off that big rock, come with me." Edward joined her and they jumped off the rock several times then dived swimming together in the light of the moons. "I'm getting a little cold."

"We can use the rock to let our skin air dry. The air is much warmer than the water." They climbed the rock together and lay on its flat surface facing each other talking quietly. Edward gently brushed he wet hair aside so her could see her face easier.

"I'm still cold Ed!" he reached out and gathered her in his arms pulling her tight against him.

"I'll keep you warm Jody." Then he kissed her.

The next morning they held hands as Edward walked Jolene to school. They needed to use the ferry boat to cross Turnagain Bay as the school was on Belle Isle. They stopped at the door of the school and Edward held both of her hands and kissed her gently. "What are you plans?"

"I got a lead on a site for the gun factory, will check that out. Then I'm meeting with the brothers to plan the garden. I will be back for you at the fourteenth hour."

"Thank you Ed."

"For what sweetheart, what did I do?"

"Thank you for loving me."

"That my little dragon rider is a pleasure."
