chapter five

april 7th
~natalie's pov.~

it is currently 5 months since i met the boy of my dreams. i still talk to zach on and off but since school started i can't talk as much.

right now i'm sitting on my couch doing homework. god i hate school. my sister is watching netflix which is distracting me but i don't mind. my dad is in his office taking a call and my mom is making dinner. this is a typical thursday night at the smiths's house.

lilly was supposed to come over but she found a new love, hayden. it's so annoying. she is always with him. i mean he's nice and all but i'm still her bestfriend.

i try not to care to much because i know she is happy, it just bothers me.

"wow if i take that job i'll be making $---- more a month. that's a lot." i hear my dad say from his office. "i'll of course have to talk to my family by i'd love to take the job."

"do you think we're gonna have to move?" emily asks worriedly.

"i hope not. but to be honest what's left here in connecticut?" i asked.

"um my friends and my boyfriend." she says all sassy. god she's one annoying 13 year old.

"does mom know you have a boyfriend?" i ask.

"um no and i want to keep it that way." she urges.

"um okay?" i say confused. we tell our mom everything. she's like our bestfriend. i don't know what's going on with her but i rather not get into it.

"um sweetie. can we talk?" my dad asks my mom slightly opening the office door.

"yeah sure. i'll be right there." my mom says taking off her apron and walking into dads office.

emily and i immediately run over to the door to try and listen. all i can make out in moving, millionaire, and huge house.

by the sound of it i'm fine with moving but emily seems hurt. she runs up stairs and slams her door. i hurry to take my seat back in the couch before my parents come out and catch me.

"is everything okay out here?" my mom asks worriedly.

"yeah, somethings up with her but i can't tell what it is." i say and roll my eyes.

"she's a teenager, when is there not something up?" my mom laughs. she walks back into the office and talks to my dad. this time i decide i'll butt out.

i decide on texting lilly to see what's up.

   me: dude i think i might be moving.
   lilly💜: what? why?
   me: idk. my parents are talking in the office and emily and i eavesdropped.
   lilly💜: omg i would miss you so much.
   me: i mean of course you would come visit. i mean you're my bestfriend.
   lilly💜: well obviously😂💁🏽
lilly💜: any idea where you are moving?
me: nope.
lilly💜: well good luck. oh and hayden and i broke up.
me: why?
lilly💜: he's just annoying and daniel seavey started talking to me again.
me: oh. cool.
