chapter nine

may 1st
~natalie's pov.~

   last night i went home around midnight. i slept through most of the night waking up a few times because of the movie.

   currently it's 11:07am and i'm walking down the stairs and i see my mom on the couch.

   "so you got pretty friendly with those neighbors huh?" she said laughing.

   "not in the way you think but yeah. they're like my bestfriends. we met in new york. they're the band lilly loves." i said smiling.

   "why don't we? the one with zach herron?"

   "yup the one and only zach herron." i grunted.

   "sweetie what's wrong." she said.

   "well when we moved here he had a girlfriend." i say sighing.

   "and now?" my mom asks.

   "well apparently he's willing to prove he likes me with whatever it takes."

   "well i mean that's good right?"

   "um yeah i guess. it still hurts though."

   "yes but everyone makes mistakes and besides i have to tell myta about this one!" she screeched as if one of her life long dreams was finally coming true.

   i walk to the car so my mom could take me to the dentist with a smile on my face i decide to text lilly. her and i have managed to talked everyday since i moved.  

   me: well zach broke up with julia!
   lilly💜: yes girl go get it!😍
   me: i'll try😂💞
   lilly💜: you better!🔥

   i laughed as i realized how much i missed lilly.

   me: DUDE YOU SHOULD COME FOR SPRING BREAK!!!!
   lilly💜: well of course💁🏽
   me: YES I GET TO SEE MY BESTIE!!
   lilly💜: AND I GET TO SEE MY BOYFRIEND!!
   me: oh shut up😂😂

   once the light turns green my mom presses the gas and we are into the intersection. i turn to look out the window to see a car coming full speed through the red light. next thing i know i hear a crash and everything goes black.

~zach's pov.~

the boys and i rush to the hospital as soon as we got the call from emily that natalie was in a car crash.

i felt tears fall down my face as we walked through the hospital doors. everything went in slow motion as i walked into the hospital waiting to see if the girl i loved was gonna make it.

i saw emily with her head in her hands sitting in the waiting room. i run up to her and embrace her. at this point i felt tears steaming down my face making a river.

if i hadn't screwed up, natalie and i would have spent all those long months i spent missing her, having the time of our lives and falling in love.
