"We hadn't even been in that diner long enough to get our drink order and he starts babbling about everything. How long has this place been here? Is the owner's name really Carrie? Why do they call this place Deadwater?"

"Stop!" I yelled.

"I can only answer those 3 questions. No more."

I told him "Okay, I said, this place has been here for 12 years and yes the owners name is Carrie. This place got it's name back in the 1870s when French explorers were well, exploring and they were carrying oil on their boat. Somehow the boat flipped and all the oil they were carrying was emptied into the clear, blue water. This oil spill caused the once beautiful waters to turn into a black lake. Ever since that incident, this place has been referred to as Deadwater because it killed all life in the lake. Those who enter it get soaked in mud and oil. Now it just sits there welcoming travelers with it's ugly appearance."

He seemed so engrossed with that story even though it was boring facts about history. After that ignoring the fact that I only said 3 questions, he continued to ask. The more he asked, the more personal they got.

I hated the direction we were going. Then a question was asked and he settled on this one question.

"What is your name?" he inquired. I was at a loss of words over a simple ordinary question. I had been asked a thousand times before, but this l time I felt obligated to answer.

So I sat there starring at my feet like an idiot. He reached across the table to shake me to answer his question. I flinched away at his touch.

Crap this isn't good.

Now he thinks I'm retarded. Finally I came up with a reply, but I had the feeling he wasn't going to let this go.

"Why do you want to know; it's not your business anyway." I said my voice shaking a bit from it's sudden use.

Ever since this stupid man came along, all that's happened to me has been disaster and the worst part is that he has no fear when he talks to me. I who has always been avoided, to suddenly get so much attention is hard to adjust to.

I wish he would just get up and prance his little ass out my life. I'm sure my slight attraction to him is just because he payed me a little attention and faced me head on.

He is strong in his beliefs and isn't afraid to gamble. I'm sure it is just coincident that he was working that night and got caught up in this. Maybe if I ditch him he will get the clue.

Hope you liked!! please comment about what you like or dislike it will help me in the future.
