I quickly turned to find none other than Jason Farce. I yelped out loudly. I looked up into his eyes to see a worried and shocked expression.
"Where were you!" he yelled getting up in my face.
I just stared at him quietly as he waited for my response. I know this sounds childish, but I couldn't look him in the eyes. For some strange reason, I felt guilty. No I wasn't going down like this. Finally, with my courage built up, I looked him dead in the eyes.
I made the meanest look I could make.
"What do you care. If you're tagging along for pity, then you can just stop now." I said getting right back in his face.
He backed up a bit to create more room for me, but he looked a little taken aback by my earlier statement. Regaining his composure, he said the following words that I had longed to hear so much.
"I'm not staying for pity. Although I'm not fond of your attitude. I like to be around you. I think your an amazing person despite your cold tone and expression you wear wherever you go."
"The real reason I stay around and got involved with you is because I want to see other sides of you. I want to see your many different expressions and change your view on life. I feel like your a diamond in the rough and you always look so sad."
"The world isn't about killing or being killed. I want to help you get through your pain in your past because I know it has to do with the way you are now." he finished his rant breathing hard from lack of air.
I was stunned by his reasonings. I didn't know what to do so I stood there staring like a dumbass at him. Tears brimmed at the corner of my eyes. He must have seen them because then next thing he did was pull me into a tight embrace.
We stood there awkwardly hugging while he softly patted my back. My face was on fire. I was so thankful that he didn't let go for a while. If he did any sooner, I would be a blushing mess.
This boy had such an effect on me that my stomach started tingling. Was this what they call friendship? Little did I know that the next few days would be the worst of my life.
