I stood there for a second pondering on what he said. God, it pissed me off when people told what to do. "Don't think you can tell me what to do. Peasant." I muttered.
He looked at me for a second, then quickly turned away with hurt in his eyes. It was those eyes they just made you want to pity him so much.
Pity is such a distasteful word. It's like poison in your mouth every time you say it. Pity is used on those who can't handle pain and people who want attention.
In the midst of my monologue, I heard the footsteps of him walking away. I needed to hurry and catch up with him.
Wait, why should I care if he leaves me. He was a pest, a leech I couldn't get rid of. Yet, somehow I felt a bit lonely when he left me. I was just tired. Yea, that's it. When we got to the motel, I flopped down on the cheap bed, but it strangely felt like heaven.
I laid there for a moment before hearing a strange ticking noise. I slowly sat up and listened harder. Then the realization hit me, it was a bomb.
"Shit!" I yelled.
"Get down Jason!" I yelled.
I didn't know where he was in the apartment, but I knew he could hear me because I heard a thump on a body hitting the floor. The explosion was so loud that I lost my hearing for a second.
The impact of the bomb threw me across the room. I blacked out for a moment before regaining consciousness. I slowly stood up and fell back down.
"Ouch." I said more to myself.
The world was spinning like I was on a never ending carrousel. Finally regaining my composer I looked around to find Jason walking toward me with a concerned expression. I looked down to make sure that I didn't have injured.
Luckily, I did not. I felt a hand on my arm trying to help me up. Out of instinct, I yanked my arm back, stumbling in the process. He caught me again. I blinked a couple times before meeting his face.
He looked very worried. "Stop looking at me like I'm about to die." I said with a grimace, trying to get up. His expression soften a bit after hearing this.
I slowly got up brushing off the dirt and debris from the now demolished ceiling. "We better get out of here before the landlord comes up. The window is still excess-able to get out of . We can crawl out the fire escape." I said already thinking about where we would go next.
"How can you stay so calm after you almost died?" Jason said with an unreadable expression.
"Cuz' it's my job and you aren't afraid of you job now are you?" I questioned.
"Your a monster." he whispered.
"Ha, get used to it kid. That's the way the world works. I'm sure you have a nasty side too. We all do. I just don't hide it like most of the cowards in this world!" I yelled smiling.
He slowly backed away from me. He looked scared of me. It hurt, but I'm used to rejection. I took advantage of his fear by slowly inching toward him.
When his back hit the wall, he shook slightly. I just frowned at him and jumped out the window.
I left him there staring at me as I walked down the dark alleyway into darkness.
AHHH! I had to do it I'm sorry, it will be resolved don't worry too much.:p
