(Jason's POV)
I sat stunned at Sarafina's harsh words and ferocious attitude. With each word she spoke her eyes darkened. Her fists were clenched so hard I'm sure her nails drew blood.
Her face was scrunched with disgust and her cold stare was cast downward to her lap.
She seemed to be mentally preparing herself for something.
She also seemed to be fighting herself over whether or not to kill me. Her sunk low, but her pride and anger didn't lessen any.
Maybe I should leave...
Just as I was about to stand, I re-thought all of Sarafina's words analyzed them.
Yes she was physically unable at the moment, but even so something as simple as fatigue wouldn't stand in her way. She was lost and confused, just as I am.
Her temper might bother me all the time, but I'm sure, even though she denies it, that she has a soft spot somewhere.
Nobody can keep up fronts all the time. I am determined to break her walls see what's underneath.
I want her to look at me without malicious intent and stop shutting out her problems, facing them dead on.
We all have our battles.
We just have to fight them and not just by ourselves, but with the help of others willing.
In that moment I remembered why I have stayed with this evil woman before me. My eyes shifted up to pools of aggression.
No doubt she was regretting killing me when she had the chance.
"I told you I was here to stay, didn't I?" I whispered in questioning with a slight hint of a threat.
Her head shot up to meet my gaze.
"Just what made you think that you could get rid of me that easily. Why do you have to do everything on your own? I know you've been through hell, but killing me wouldn't benefit you in any way, unless you count satisfactory. Maybe you would love to chop me up, or torture is always an option too." I grumbled yelling slightly.
"Think about all the things you could have done to me earlier. I've given you plenty of openings to kill me. You call yourself a monster, but that's just your way of escaping the world. If you think you're making the world a better place, you're surely mistaken." I shouted my voice rising dramatically.
"Murdering and taking on jobs isn't 'fun' for you. You use it as an outlet to diminish your wrath upon others, when in all actuality, you are only hurting yourself. You yearn to kill someone specific. I know it."
Sarafina's eyes started to water slightly, creating a shimmering effect.
"I know that you want to believe in the hope for something more, and if you don't then I'll just have to believe for the both of us. Your vengeance might be misguided at times, but that's why I'm here. I want to help you. "
"To be honest I'm quite fascinated with you. Your comebacks always crack me up. Your hiding yourself and I want to find the real you, no matter how much digging and door holding it will take because I don't want to give up on you."
Her hand shot up to clutch her shirt as if it were going to save her.
Her flaming hair covered her eyes, as her head dropped in defeat.
Sarafina's hand quivered and shook slightly. She constantly swallowed as if to get rid of emotion. Before I could stop myself, my arms embraced her tiny frame.
