As soon as I wake up, I repeatedly glance at the text message that Natsume sent me the night before and it makes my heart melt to the floor each time.
My face heats up so bad that I get embarrassed by how much I'm flustered.
What do I do tomorrow? We have class tomorrow!!!! When should I tell Hotaru? Is it okay to tell anyone else?
Ugh... I don't know what to do, I'm freaking out so much... jeez~!
I get ready for school and head downstairs, singing a little.
My mom stares at me. "Good morning Mikan... why are you so energetic today?"
Should I tell her?
Uh... it's too early for that, isn't it?
"I don't know." I chuckle, "I just am."
She narrows her eyes at me and then the slightest smirk appears on her lips.
She knows, she knows, she knows...
"Something happened didn't it?"
I'm about to come up with an excuse when the doorbell rings. We both glance at it. She nods and I take a seat at the table to eat breakfast.
The food is already at the table so I reach for a piece of buttered toast.
"Oh my~! It's very nice to meet you as well!!!" I hear my mom squeal. My neck cranes back but I can't see a thing from where I'm sitting. I get up with my toast and chew on it slowly as I make my way to the door, "How sweet of you to come all this way~!!!"
"Hey, mom? Who's at the door?" I poke my head out of the doorway and narrow my eyes at the door.
I drop my toast on the floor.
Natsume's outside my door.
Talking with my mom.
"N-Natsume?" My voice cracks.
My mom has her hands on her cheeks, gawking at Natsume. Then she raises a brow at me.
Her eyes are saying all kinds of things like:
Who's this?
Why is he here?
Why didn't you tell me you were going out with such a hot guy?
"Is it alright if I walk her to school?" Natsume breaks the awkward silence and my mom grins like a madwoman.
"Of course!!!"
I blush. The two are both embarrassing me right now. Natsume, because he's here acting like a gentleman and my mom, who's acting like a mom. The kind that whips out those embarrassing baby pictures of you that you never knew existed.
I pick up the toast and toss it in the trashcan then grab my bag to head out. "Bye mom." I mumble as I walk next to Natsume.
He laughs as he glances at my red face. "What?"
"Nothing..."
He laughs even harder and I glare at him, "I didn't think you'd come pick me up. Don't you live in the opposite direction from me?"
"I do but I really wanted to see you." He mutters like a kid. "Is that so bad?"
My heart clenches.
Ugh... he's bad for my heart.
I pout, "I wanted to see you too."
Then he swings his hand down and grabs mine, "Alright then. I can come pick you up every morning right?"
