Chapter 12

"I'm getting worried. He's not himself, Cas too. They aren't as...loving as they once were. They seem distant."
Gabe and Sam were laying in the middle of the schools football field watching the clouds. Summer was almost over, after the vacation Dean took them on Sam broke things off with Jess.
"I've noticed that. Cas seems more formal and tense plus he's lost his sense of humour."
Gabe sat up looking down at Sam.
"What are we going to do?"
His question lingered, Sam had asked the same question many times but could never find an answer. He shrugged frowning a little, Gabe noticed and laid back down placing his hand on Sam's chin turning his head to him softly kissing him.
"Things will work its self out. Dean and Cas are meant to be, they'll figure this out Samantha"
he was right, this wasn't a situation to place himself in. He had to let his older brother do this himself, he couldn't glue them back together he could only help mend the pieces but to repair them would be their job. Sam smiled getting up moving on top of Gab
"Its Sam"
The boy below Sam smirk wrapping his arms around his neck, leaning down Sam pushed his lips to fit the boys perfectly. The kiss deepened only to be stopped by the rain that had started. He got up off him, the two both stood watching the rain get heavier until they were soaked. Sam turned to look at Gabe who seemed miserable because of being soaked.
"Kiss me"
Sam's direct comment pulled the once frown to a smile as he walked close to him grabbing Sam's shirt pulling them closer.  Their lips met softly, it took a while to fully realize that Gabe was who Sam wanted but thankfully Gabe patiently waited for him and Sam couldn't be happier for it.

"Come on you bitch!! Come out !"
Dean shouted walking through the woods holding a machete ahead of him, he tracked down a ghoul not far from town and followed it getting it alone. Dean fell to his knees when the ghoul came from behind bitting into his arm, he managed to get it off him by turning around with his free arm swing hitting it casing the monster to be taken back Dean turned around ready to charge but stopped when he seen it was Sam.
"...S-Sammy"
His voice cracked the ringing noise of his weapon hitting the ground filled the air. Sam walked up to him pulling him into a hug to which Dean returned lifting his arms embracing his brother back, quickly feeling a sharp pain in his neck blood spilt down as Dean fell to his knee releasing a shout of agony. He pulled himself together his hand scrambling in search for his weapon but froze when Sam was pulled from him thrown away. The firm changed from Sam back to its normal body and ran back to attack him, he readied his machete standing up, before it could get any closer Castiel walked past Dean tearing the monsters head clean off its shoulders, Dean looked at Castiel is disbelief not knowing that Castiel was behind him.

Dean walked past him hitting Cas' shoulder off his knocking him to the side a bit, Cas grabbed Dean's arm turning him making the two face to face.
"Castiel..."
Dean spoke breaking the awkward starring and silence.

"I just saved your life once again. You should show me some respect. "

his touch healed Dean of his wounds with no thank you Dean pulled his arm away from his grip ignoring what he said. He turned around walking back to his bike, Castiel was there waiting for him.

"What now? Another quest given by the great god above if there even is a god"

"There is"
his words were cold and angry as if he'd pushed a nerve.

"Yah. Well I'm not convinced. If there is then what the hell is he waiting for, the plaque, the freakin apocalypse?! What about the poor bastards stuck down here being tortured by monsters and demons!"

After some silence Dean spoke up again
"I thought Angels were suppose to be guardians. "

"I'm a solider of god"

"Yah well why don't you get your other angel soldiers and fight your own battle, get your so called god to fix his broken creation !"
Dean was getting angry, it was hard to keep this wall up around Castiel when there was all this history between them.

"We're not here to purge on your shoulder. There are other wars being fought"
With a blink of an eye he was gone leaving Dean alone. He pulled out a smoke releasing a sigh and lighting the top putting it between his lips
"Dean Matthew Winchester ! You put that out right now young man!"
His mother would always scold him for smoking but to no prevail of quiting. She was always more angry when he smoked near Cas, as if he'd somehow corrupt him to smoking.

   Dean spent the rest of the week gathering information on demons considering he's never been up against one, and definitely didn't wanna face it not knowing how to kill it. Bobby found some Latin demon zapping speech that would send it back to hell and thankfully Cas had helped him with Latin a while back and some of the language just stuck with him.
"You're still up? Don't you have to be at the diner early tomorrow ?"
Sam stood at Deans doorway, he looked at his clock realizing how late it actually was.

"Ellen gave me the day off actually"
Dean closed his laptop giving Sam his full attention.

"So then lets go do something, school starts in a week and I've barely seen you lately"

That's true Deans been so busy hunting and this demon case wasn't major, He could take a break for one day and hopefully Castiel won't charge in.

"Sure Sammy what do you got in mind ?"

"Let's go to a beach, or a club, or a road trip or whatever"

"Samuel did you just suggest a club you rebellious kid"

"I'm almost seventeen Dean"

I got up to go to the kitchen ruffling my hand through his hair
"Still a kid Sammy"

"Its Sam"
Dean laughed a little passing by Sam who left going to bed. Dean cracked open a beer sitting on a chair putting his bottle down on the island counter. Its been a crazy year, their mom died hell Sam even died, Dean learned about the family business and lost Cas...so many things have happened what else bad could happen. He ran his hand through his hair sighing then lifting the bottle to his lips drinking the cold stress release.
