"Marinette! Princess! I'm sorry. Wake up please!"

My eyes are closed or maybe I'm blind but I can't see him. I know it's Chat though. He's the only one that calls me princess. I try to bring myself to open my eyes but it hurts. Everything hurts.

"Mari, please, wake up. I couldn't stand hurting you," he's crying.

"Chat?" I call and light actually starts to flood into my eyes.

The light is too much at first so I try to blink it away. I don't know where I got that plan. I don't think it really helped. Color starts flowing in now and I can sort of see shapes.

"Mari," he says half crying half smiling at me.

"Nathanael," I say trying to sit up but he lays me down.

I'm not entirely complaining because everything hurts but I can handle myself. I want to see where I am. I need to know if everyone is safe.

"It's okay," he assures me, "Nathanael is out safe. I can't believe I let this happen to you."

"You didn't know," I say forcing him to let me sit up.

I try to hide my pain the best I can before I look around at the scene. I can't see the car Nathanael sketched anywhere. There's glass on the ground but there's no car. Wasn't there a car?

"You guys were stuck I had to use cataclysm to get both of you out safe," he explains seeming to read my mind.

I nod then look over at a pile of something. When I look closer I realize it's a pile of Nathanael. He doesn't look hurt but he isn't conscious. I must've only been out for a few minutes of there's barely a crowd near us. No police yet.

"Today sucks," I say to no one.

"Yeah," he frowns, "it do-"

He's interrupted by me pushing him to the ground. Something flies over both our heads. Chat jolts up and tries to protect me from Nathanael. While we were pouting Nathanael woke up.

"You always have to get in our way!" Nathanael exclaims shooting another thing at us.

"Nathanael! Stop!" I scream stepping in front of Chat.

"Mari!" Chat warns.

I know it's a risky shot but I need Chat to make this out without a scar. If I'm nothing without my mask then I shouldn't even be Ladybug. Oh my god! Where's Tiki?

"Move aside, Marinette," he growls at Chat, "I don't want to hurt you."

"You'll have to hurt me to hurt him," I say trying to be as confident as I would be as Ladybug.

"Mari-"

"Nathanael, please," I say stepping closer to him. "Where's the Akuma?"

"Marinette," he frowns, "please move."

"Please, just tell me what's wrong," I ask, "why did you get akumatized?"

"He kissed you and then left," he spits, "you were crying, Marinette and I told you he'd hurt you!"

"So this is your I told you so?" I exclaim actually mad at his response, "almost killing both of us in a car accident? How does this help? You don't own me!"

"I never meant to crash the car, Marinette," he tells me glaring back at Chat, "he got in the way again."

"Don't blame it on him," I say now the one glaring.

"You really think he cares? What sane person leaves you crying on a public sidewalk?" He asks practically just egging me on now. "You knew he'd never go for the Baker's daugh-"
