Chapter 7

"We have decided to have a welcoming ball!" Grandma said. As we had our afternoon tea, it was Thursay and my first week so far had been excellent, my cousins in the junior year including me were invited to a party next week and Mason and i were just friends, butterflies still came but i ignored them.

I dropped my fork and stared at my Grandmother, then back to my Grandfather. Did grandpa agree to this?

Apart of me knew she was mental being 800 years old i was convinced she lost it when she reached 800 last year. We didnt have the room but so far we found a vampire communtiy centre that was hidden in a human community centre. I hadn't bothered to go check out.

"We should have it at the Long Beach Vampire Community and invite all the Vampires around town" She began. "I have met some lovely vampires and some Bliss's age and they are extremely polite"

"Why my age? Why not Natalie's? The boys my age are all douchebags!" I say.

"Language Young lady" She snaps.

"Douche bag is not that bad. I can say another list of words. But most boys are douches" I tell her.

That was it my mother had gone loopy in the head hosting a ball? At the Vamp Centre? I swear sometimes that Grandmother of mine is on crack. Or constantly on vodka.

So then it was decided we had a ball at the Vamp hall and we had to get Vamp dresses, Grandpa told us that the theme was masquerade and black,red and white, these we seen as tradional colours for a Vamp ball.

"Seriously they have to have a ball? And invite other vamps we could be out partying like normal teenagers instead of that we get a ball with blood thirsty vamps" Faith complained. she did say blood thirsty vamps even though they were entierly not all of them were blood thirsty.

"I know right? We could have been invited to a party!" I moan.

"Stop your moaning!" Vicky said as she walked with us up the stairs "It's just for one night, don't you want to meet some other vampires?"

She shook our heads "No thanks" We said.

"Just enjoy that one night!"

I huffed and ran towards my room.

I was only the smallest amount excited of this ball, I could invite Cole to come and we would have some fun together and catch up on the things that we had forgot. When I rushed back upstairs I called Cole to tell him the news "That's great! Finally some time together, so it's a masquerade ball? I can wear a mask so can you that way nobody will know it's us. Babe I'm so happy that we get to spend time together!" He said happily.

"Yeah, it's no fun without you. There's just one boy I have my eye for" I explained "Of course it's you but somebody else, but I have been warned he won't like me"

I heard Cole huff "I don't mind you looking at other guys, I mean I was looking at you when I was with Vicky. But if he doesn't like you then there's no point"

"True. Cole you know I won't wait forever, what if I fall for somebody else before I'm 18? That won't go down well" I say.

"I told you Bliss, when I'm 18 that's only over a year away. You have two years whereas I have one"

"Whatever, il wait a year"

"Great, il see you at the ball. Well I hope to"

"Yeah, I hope I will see you at the ball" I said.

"Me too. Cya later babe"

We didnt choose the dresses we had to wear our selfs our grandmother chose them, mine was fully black it had diamonds on the top and it was a princess dress. Faith had the same type, our dresses discusted us we would never wear them in a million years. Our masks were sparkly black, there was no real colour whatsoever.

Cole would not like me like this.

We wanted to tell our grandmother that we would not be wearing them but then we would upset her feelings and then she would be drinking vodka for so many hours.

When we went to school on Friday i managed to find my way around the school that i let myself just wander off. Ria said that next saturday she was having a party and we were able to go it wasnt this saturday so we said yes.

After school all the adults were out so we had the mansion to ourselfs i called a meeting as all of us girls were not happy with our dresses.

"Girls we are not happy about our dresses and the Ball is tomorrow we either need to get new ones or say they mysteriously disappered"Natalie said.

"They look shit, I love Grandma but I hate these dresses" I say.

We all sat in silence for a few minutes thinking of other suggestions then i came up with one.

"I have a brilliant idea, what if we wear our dresses but customise them and our masks as well!" i said the littles jumped and screamed yes. Nobody else disaggreed so i sent Daria and Natalie down to the craft store to get as many fabrics, sequins and paints as possible. Then we got to work, we laid out all of our dresses and masks.

Vicky started cutting them one by one inching different lengths i told Vicky to leave mine as i would plan it by myself. Faith's dress was cut until it looked like a miniskirt she put the rest of the rest fabric underneath to give it layers.

"Bliss thank you for doing this, without you we would be miserable at that ball" Mara said trying on her dress.

When Natalie and Daria came back they had so many bags i lost count, there were feathers,sequins,fabris of all colours, tye dye packets. we didnt mess around with the stuff and got to work. I found all the bright colours and made little snippits of it and sewed it on to the dress. I removed the black diamonds and put on different coloured sequins it was hard to do as we didnt have a sewing machine.

Hours of hard cold labour went by i stuck multcoloured feathers on the far right hand side of the dress, i did the same with my mask everything looked bright and colourful my dress managed to sparkle in the light. When i looked at myself in the full length mirrow i could cry, i felt like a princess.

"You look amazing" Faith said to me. Her dress was amazing her dress was like mine but only smaller it was cut all the way and stopped half way at the thigh, the colours looked so bright she left a small amount of black, her mask had glitter over it and looked amazing.

The other girls dresses were colourful and very stylish, we only did small amount of clothes when we got bored at home. When we all finish trying on our dresses we packed away, all of the adults were staying overnight at the Centre and we had to be a the centre at 5pm tomorrow.

"You know this is the best dress ever" Mara said.

"I cant believe we did this all by ourselfs, i think when i leave high school im gonna go to college and take textiles and open my own boutqiue" Daria said.

"I think i will join you my friend" Natalie said sewing up a sequin on to Fibis dress. The little ones didnt make their dresses they just sat and watched us.

We put our dresses away in their special bags and we put them away in our rooms, the guys were all out probly at football or watever now that most of them joined clubs.

" You know this actually might be the best ball we ever go to amazing dresses, vamps and maybe some cute vamps" Faith said as we got into our beds.

" You know Faith i think it will"
