Chapter 18

I stayed home for the rest of the week, my parents phoned in to say that I was just sick. But I wasn't, Grandpa helped me practise my powers so I was able to control them.

"Arm straight! You need to keep your posture up!" Grandpa yelled.

"I'm trying my best Grandpa!" I shout back.

"Your best isn't good enough! Bliss you have to push yourself, your best is your worst. You need to make the power come out on command!" He says.

We were practising on working on my fire technique as fire is seen as the Vampire element, the element represents strength in Vamps, grandpa told me that he contacted the Vampire council about my powers and said that they sounded impressive. In return I could show my powers to them at the annual High Vampire Ball.

I was excited.

Yet nervous what if something went wrong? I was going to show my powers to the council. But grandpa said at the start that we shouldn't tell anybody but now I was mastering my powers I was in control.

"Very good Bliss, I'm very proud of you I think the council will deeply respect you" Grandpa said "With powers as strong as yours you could be on the council one day, or in charge of the Pacem. But I know that in future life you will have a very high status"

"Thanks but I don't want to get too involved with vampire stuff I think I will focus on school and my social life Grandpa" I confessed.

"I see but on some days after school we will practise and some weeks we will meet important people as you are a new advanced vampire at such a young age" he laughed. "I will let you have days off and interact with your 'social life'"

When Faith came home she told me school gossip, like Mary was suspended for a week after bullying freshmen. I was happy as she also got kicked out of Religious Studies because of her religious beliefs. There was also a school dance on Friday night and Faith told me that when I come back Mason is planning on asking me to the dance.

"Have you talked to Cole?" She asked out of the blue.

"Why?" I asked.

"I knew it was Cole who was on the phone at our party. If you are cheating on Mason it's best to tell him now, just because Cole could juggle you and Vicky means nothing. He likes mischief, he likes having girls run after him. Can't you just tell Mason?" She says.

"I haven't spoken to Cole in weeks"

"Then stay away from Cole, he will make you into something you're not"

I was aloud back to school Wednesday Mary was still suspended so I had nothing to worry about, everything was back to normal. When I got school Mason was already there. He smiled, all pleased and happy.

"Hey! You're back finally I missed you!" He said and kissed me. "I have a question, do you what to go to the dance with me on Friday?"

I nodded and kissed him again when I went home Faith and I started planning our outfits plus hair colours. My dress was red embodied with diamonds all over it, the dress looked perfect my hair was going to be red and black my shoes were black. Faith decided on a deep purple dress with purple hair chalk.

"I might just relax for once"I said.

"Yeah maybe it will be fun after all" Faith said.

Now here we are Dad took us and Mason was waiting at the door for us, when we went in there was a stage and we were told that soon we were gonna do Karaoke I was so in. But there was one downside Mary was here, in black head to toe she kept staring at me when I was slow dancing with Mason.

"You gonna do some Karaoke?" Mason asked me.

"Oh you bet sunshine!" I said to him. He looked at me shocked. "Oh yeah you never heard me sing, right we'll be prepared"

"Well I will definitely enjoy it"

"That's the kind boyfriend spirit!" We danced until it was Karaoke time, surprisingly Mary went up and she sang 5 colours in her hair by Mcfly. I smiled because it wasn't good and kids booed her, the teachers weren't impressed at the booing but they didn't look happy themselves.

After she finished I decided that I should go up, I took my shoes off as they were killing me and I wanted to dance while singing my song. Our school hired a DJ when I went up he asked for my name.

"I'm Bliss Lockhart" I said.

"Well what are you going to sing for us Bliss?" The DJ asked me.

"I would like to sing Right there by Ariana Grande"

"Looks like we got a bit of the Ariana tonight people!"

Then the music started blasting I listened carefully then the song began.

"Boy you make me feel so lucky

Finally the stars are lined

This never has been so easy" I sang.

The words pumped out.

"I'm always gonna stay

You caught me right there

Right there

You got it baby"

I even sang Big Sean's part. I jumped off the stage and walked towards Mason he smiled at me and actually blushed I laughed and kept on singing. Everybody kept going aww, it was cliché but I had enjoyed it at the same time.

"Cause I'm right there

Right there"

I danced around the stage when I got up to the stage the song ended, everybody clapped for me and whistles from the jocks.

"How Bliss how about another song!" DJ shouted.

"DO ANOTHER SONG" everybody chanted.

"What song?" I asked. Loads of songs were shouted but I heard Faiths shout Best Friends Forever, the song by KSM

"BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!" I Shouted

When I sang I motioned to Faith and got a mike from the DJ, Faith sang with me we sat on the edge of the stage smiling. We laughed she cried singing it, my true best friend nobody could replace her.
