Chapter 15 - Soulmate

FIXRA'S POV

I was slightly awaken when I felt my bed move. When I stretched myself, I noticed Kairos is up, sitting on the bed. I climb on her back and hugged her from behind. I placed my chin on her shoulder and nibble on her earlobe to gained her attention. "Whys wrong?" I whispered.

"Who's Kaelyn?" She asked in her deep rough voice. Wait, is that Kai?

"Kaelyn? Why do you want to know?" I asked while releasing her. "Because I want to know." Kai turned to me and look into my eyes. "Who's Kaelyn." It's not a question, she wants to know. I sighed. At this moment I know I have no choice but to obliged her request.

"She's, my soulmate. Well, she was, before she broke the bond and leave me alone." I touched my heart... I remembered the ache I have to endure when she leave me alone to my own demise. Just because she learned the truth of my power. She hates me because I am stronger than her.

"Well?" Kai asked as she waited for me to explain.

"She broke the bond after she learned I am stronger than her ever will. She doesn't want to be with me if everyone will see her as the weak. She destroy my heart when I completely fallen for her. Now she found a way to be stronger, she wants me back because my father promise her ultimate power, greater than mine." I explained.

"What did you do after?" She asked.

"I .... my father asked Tharos to be her .... replacement. My aunt was force to let him
Be my new soulmate but knowing her, she might altar everything. I went to Orman together with Tharos and the rest of my servants and then I found you." I looked up to Kai.

"Please, believe me. I would never betray you. She's my past, your my future. I don't care if I will lose my power and my place for the throne being together with you. All I need is you and you alone, Kai..." she took my hand and kiss it. It was gentle yet compassionate.

"I'll do anything to protect you and the rest of your family even if they hate me." She promised.

Suddenly, we were interrupted by a loud banging on the door. "Goddess. We have a problem... please, open the door." A voice behind the door sound anxious. I sighed and went to the door. "Yes?" I asked while watching her running out of breath. "Breath. What is it?" I asked while waiting for her to breath properly.

"Vampires! They're attacking us! The whole east village are wipe out! They're making their way towards the Holy Mountain as we speak!"

Kai immediately stood up and went to the windows. "Did you inform the others?" I asked. She nodded. "Goddess Bahamut asked us servants to inform even your soulmate's family members." Bahamut?

She's the one giving out orders? What happened to father?

"What happened to the king?" Kai asked.

"He was ... attacked. He's injured. The queen said he needs some time to heal himself. That's why she instruct Bahamut to command the army." I thanked the servant and went to Kai who's now fully clothe. "Where are you going?" I asked while I too putting on my clothes.

"I'm going to see what's happening down there. If it's the vampires attacking, they must be aiming my family. We're in foreign ground, they have full authority to attack my family with all their power." She went to the table where I place her sword earlier and strapped it around her waist.

"I promise, I'll make sure none of your people get hurt any longer."

She went out without waiting for me at all. "KAI!" I yelled and ran for her when I'm done putting my clothes. "Fixra!" Bahamut called out for me and asked me to follow her. We both went to see father and mother in their room. Bahamut knock a couple of times before mother open the door.
