I couldn't imagine my life without my best friend Harry. Ever since we were little, we have always been the best of friends, inseperable. We lived in Chesire, England. A small neighborhood, where I lived right next door to Harry. Everyday, we would do whatever we felt like playing. No one could seperate us. Even at the age of 4.

"Harry!" I yelled running up next to our chain-linked fence. I grasped the cold metal with my small hands, waiting for him to turn around.

The small boy turned around, and seeing me a bright smile came on his face. He ran over to the fence too, not waiting to start another conversation.

"Hi Peyton!"

"Can we play today?" I asked jumping up and down.

"Yeah. My mommy said we could maybe go to the park."

"Okay. I'll go get my mommy." I say running to the back door of our small house.

I burst through the door into the kitchen, not caring to take my shoes off. "Mommy!"

"Yes Peyton?" she said rushing into the kitchen.

"Harry is going to the park. Can I go?"

"Of course. Let's go talk to them."

I led her back outside, and we walked to the front door of Harry's house. Mom knocked quietly, and Harry's mom answered and started talking.

"Harry!" I yell into his house.

He comes running down the hall, and stands next to his mom.

"Can you come?"

"Yeah!"

I look back up to my mom and tug on her shirt. She looks down at me with a smile on her face.

"Can I go mommy?"

"Yes sweetheart. Be nice to Harry."

"Okay!" I enthusiastically say and wave as she walks back into the house. Harry's mom gets us into the car and we drive to the small playground a couple blocks away.

I climbed the steps of the slide anxiously, Harry trailing behind me. My foot reache up to the top of the slide, and I sat down. Harry sat next to me.

"Harry?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you." I said, not knowing what it truly meant.

"I love you too Peyton. When we are old, let's get married."

"Ew!" I squealed and giggled.

Harry frowned.

"Okay. I guess I'd like to marry you!"

"Yay! And then we can live in a big house and I can have a big red truck."

"Okay. As long as I can have all my toys."

"Me too."

"You have to promise. We have to get married because we love eachother." I say extending my pinkie.

"I promise." He says and connects his pinky with mine.

He kisses me quickly on the lips and I wipe it off and giggle.

"Harry!"

***TWELVE YEARS LATER***

"Peyton!" My mom yells from the computer room.

"Yeah?"

"Come here."

"Hm?" I ask entering into the small space.

"Did you know Harry auditioned for the X-Factor?"

"Yeah, why?"

"He made it."

My mouth drops open a little, my eyes wide. "Seriously?"

"Yeah. I'm so happy for him!"

"When will he come back?"

"It depends. If he wins, or proceeds on, it could be months."

My heart sank. I was finally going to tell Harry how I really felt about him. Not over a text, or an email, but in person. At school today in fact.

"Will he be at school today?" I ask hesitantly.

"I'm afraid not honey. Why don't you call him?"

"Okay. I have to go. Bus is coming."

"Okay Honey."

I walk back into the kitchen, sighing heavily. Of course.

I picked up my backpack and headed to the bus stop right in fron tof Harry's house. And of course, he didn't come out.

The cool fall breeze blew my hair behind my shoulders as I gazed at Harry's house. So many memories. Memories I may never be able to create again, as a teenager.

The bus creeked to a stop and I got on and sat in my usual seat. Everyday, next to Harry. But the bus felt empty. Like no one else but me was on.

I snuck into the bathroom before class, just to see if i could get ahold of Harry. I dialed the number, anxiously waiting for him to answer.

"Hello?" A voice said.

"Hey Harry."

"Hi Peyton!"

"How's X-Factor?"

"It's amazing. I hope I can make it through farther, but I'm homesick and I miss you."

Butterflies overcame my stomach. He missed me, but nothing more than in a friendly way.

"I miss you too Hazza."

"Maybe you could come to the set. It would be great."

"Yeah, I'd enjoy it."

The bell for class rung.

"Harry, I have to go."

"Okay. Can you text me after school?"

"I'll try. Good luck tonight."

"Thanks Pey. Love ya."

"Love ya too." I hang up and stuff my phone back in my backpack.

If only we kept the promise we made when we were 4. I would still take him up on the offer. And when he said he loved me, I knew it was also in that friendly manner. Nothing more. Probably never would be.

A horrible thought crossed my mind walking to class.

What if Harry won X-Factor? Would he remember me or would I just be someone from his past he couldn't even remember the name of? And our pact. He would forget all about me, date a model, and get married and be a millonare. These were all highly possible situations.

Maybe, I needed to tell Harry everything. Maybe before it was too late.
