"Can we go there now?" Taehyung said, jogging up to be closer to me as we walked home. Correction, I walked home ignoring his presence.
"Areum?"
"Are you listeningggg?"
A warm gust of air shot through my right ear, the side in which Taehyung was standing on. I cupped my ear because of the weird sensation, shooting him another glare.
"Are-"
"No"
"You don't even know what-"
"No"
He sighed heavily and stuck his hands in his pockets, sulking behind me. When I heard the footsteps stop behind me, I looked over my shoulder to see him sitting in the middle of the dirt path.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked walking back over to him, standing above his body. His head was facing down so I couldn't see his face.
"Taeh-" He lifted his head up to look at me, a playful grin plastered across his mouth. He swiftly stood up and scooped me up, holding me into a piggyback.
"I swear to god Taehyung if you don't put me down I will personally see to it that you will never get a pop tart ever in your life" I threatened, trying to compose myself. He hands slipped under my thighs and adjusted me upwards so I sat higher up.
"Nope, you promised you'd show me so I'm not putting you down until you take me" He stated, his grip tightening ever so slightly to show how serious he was.
"If I show you now, you have to put me down"
"You're not really in a position to be negotiating here, sweetheart"
"I can walk by myself, and don't call me that"
"Why? It suits you"
"Put. Me. Down"
"Nope" He announced, popping the 'p' sound.
I sighed in defeat and leaned my arms on his shoulders.
"That way" I said, rolling my eyes and pointing to a path that led off into the trees.-
"Wahh~ Daebak!" He exclaimed as we entered the abandoned road.
"Okay we're here you can put me down now"
He slipped me off gently, letting go of my legs. I walked over to the wooden pallets and sat down, placing my bag beside me. He followed and sat beside me, watching me carefully. His eyes wandered around, landing on a wishing flower sticking up from the grass. His eyes lit up, plucking it from the ground and bringing it up to his face.
"You are such a child" I said, laughing slightly as he pouted.
"So what?" He defended, smiling a little. He twiddled the flower around his fingers, looking at it closely.
"Wait stay still" I instructed, pulling out my phone.
"Why?"
"I want to draw this" a large smile spread across his face as I lifted the camera up at him, snapping a picture of him holding the flower.
"You didn't ask for my permission" he stated,
blowing the flower causing all the little fluffy petals to drift into the wind.
"You didn't ask for my permission when you kidnapped me"
"I prefer borrowed temporarily"
"Hmm" I replied sarcastically.
"Can I see the photo?" He asked, looking at the phone in my hand. I reluctantly handed him the phone and he smiled, taking it in his large hands. I looked over at the trees swaying in the breeze, drifting back and forth. The sound of typing diverted my attention back to Taehyung, only to see him grinning as he typed something.
"What did you do?" I asked, grabbing the phone back.
"I saved my number" and sure enough the brunette had, his contact named 'Taetae'.
"I already texted myself" He said triumphantly.
"Why do I need your number?"
"So you can take me here again"
"I didn't agree to that"
"Too bad," he said standing up. "Now lets go, I want food"
"You owe me noodles now"
"Deal" He replied, a boxy smile appearing.
We walked to a nearby takeout, ordering two pots of noodles for the both of us. We walked and ate, enveloped in a comfortable silence.
"Hey Areum?"
"Yes"
"Why are you so cold to everyone?"
"I already told you, I don't like people"
"Yeah but why don't you like them"
I shrugged, it was only a half lie.
"How come you've been here for so little time yet you've already made friends with every person" I asked, changing the subject.
"Are you calling me your friend?" He smirked.
"You wish" I said giving him a smug look.
"Okay sweetheart" I ignored the comment and finished the noodles as we approached our street. It was dark already, the stars starting to appear above us. Once we reached our own houses we said goodbye and I opened the door, walking into the living room quietly. My moms sleeping figure was sprawled across the plush fabric of the couch. I smiled and brought one of the woolly blankets resting on the chair over her body, tucking it around her. I turned off the lights and went to my room, changing into an oversized sweater and letting my hair down. Fatigue was only just beginning to make its way into my system as I threw myself onto the bed and closed my eyes. A loud ping made my eyes flutter open in the direction of my phone, my hand reaching lazily over. I ceased it in my hand and clicked the home button.11:36pm

I clicked off the phone and looked out the window, staring at the tall boy looking down at his phone. He lifted his head up, his eyes meeting mine, he smiled warmly at me and waved. I waved and closed the curtains, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips. His happiness was always somewhat contagious, a smile like his could melt even the coldest of hearts.
