"I'm Jin but you can call me, worldwide handsome" he said, blowing a kiss to me. I laughed and pretended to catch it, making him smile.
"Taehyung doesn't shut up about you, you'd be doing us all a favour if you just date him" Jin said, looking at Taehyung then at me.
"Oh really?" I said, smirking up at Taehyung who seemed to be looking anywhere but at me. My eyes landed back on the girl who was now detaching herself from Jimin, planting a kiss on his lips before walking over to me. She quickly pulled me into a hug and held onto my hands, smiling widely at me.
"I'm Jihee, Jimins girlfriend" she said politely, her warm smile instantly making me like her.
"I'm Areum" I said, introducing myself with a smile of my own.
"So pretty! Let's leave them for a bit" she said, excited at her new friend. I nodded and followed her out of the kitchen waving goodbye and blowing a kiss to Taehyung playfully. She directed us through the people, occasionally stopping to say hi to a few people around the room. We got two drinks and sat together on a small sofa in the corner of the room.
"So you and Taehyung huh?" She said, sipping her drink.
"What about him?" I said, bringing the cup to my lips.
"Why aren't you guys dating yet?"
I choked on the drink, swallowing it quickly.
"What?" I said, taking another sip to wash it down.
"It's so obvious you like each other you should just get together already! We're all waiting" she said, the excitement clear in her voice.
"He doesn't like me like that, and anyway we're just friends" I said, my eyes looking down.
"Nooo he really likes you I can tell, he only talks about you to the rest of us" she said, making my eyes meet hers.
"Wait what?" I said, confusion washing over me.
"Can't you see it? He's never like this with anyone, he gets so excited when he talks about you" she continued.
My mind raced, processing what she was telling me. Did he really like me? The pieces of information filled my head, all of the moments we had together now finally adding up. Why was I feeling this way about him?
"I can tell you like him too, just by the way you look at him" she said, smiling up at me. As if on cue the boys walked into the room, all crowding in when seeing us together.
"Hey don't steal my girlfriend" Jimin said, playfully pouting at us.
"Nope me and Areum are dating now go away" Jihee said, slinging an arm around me playfully to tease him.
"Hey Taehyung, you're my boyfriend now" Jimin said, gesturing for him to come over.
"Nope sorry I'm reserved" Taehyung said, patting Jimin on the head as he sat on the floor beside him. Jimin pouted and Jihee smiled, walking over to sit beside him. She pecked him on the lips, both of them lost in a conversation. Taehyung eyed the now empty seat beside me and climbed into it, leaning his legs in my lap.
"Having fun?" He asked, looking up at me.
"Yeah" I said truthfully, a warm feeling surrounding me.
"Good" he said, smiling genuinely.
We all sat together and played games, truth or dare becoming a reoccurring topic between the group.
"Namjoon truth or dare?" Hoseok asked, his dimples showing as he smiled.
"Dare" Namjoon relied, smirking.
"Kiss Jin" he said, causing a laugh to spread between the group.
"Okay" he agreed without hesitation. Horror spread over the faces of everyone, mainly on Jin. He yelped as Namjoon quickly kissed him on the cheek, his face pure disgust.
"Why are you pretending to be disgusted, we all know Namjin is real" Jungkook said, causing everyone to laugh and nod in agreement.
"Jin truth or dare" Namjoon asked.
"Dare"
"Wake Yoongi" he said, a group of 'ohh's followed after the dare.
"Never mind truth" he said, quickly changing his option after looking at the sleeping boy. They continued to play for longer until it was Taehyung's turn.
"Truth or dare TaeTae" Jin asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Truth" he replied, smiling up at him.
"Do you like Areum?" He asked, causing everyone to be happy with the question asked.
"Dare" he said, quickly changing his answer.
"No you can't switch!" Jin said, annoyed by his getaway.
"You did!" He protested back.
"Fine, I dare you to answer the question" he said, smirking. Taehyung sighed and looked away.
"Yes" he mumbled, avoiding eye contact with me.
"Did you hear that? Taehyungie has a crush on Areum~" Hoseok sang, all of them teasing him. I felt heat rush up to my cheeks, my answer now confirmed by himself.
"Areum," Jimin said, making my attention snap up to him.
"Truth or dare?" He asked, smirking at me.
"Truth" I said, deciding to play it safer.
"Do you like Taehyung too?" He asked, a grin creeping on his lips. I knew switching would mean they'd dare me to answer the question, there was no getting out of it.
"Yes" I said quietly, my answer coming out more confidently than I had anticipated.
"I told you" Namjoon said, pushing Taehyung in the shoulder. I looked away sheepishly, my eyes looking over at Jihee who was clapping silently and smiling at me.
"Guys lets go get some drinks" Namjoon suggested, taking most of the group out with him leaving me and Taehyung together. Alone.
We sat in a awkward silence, neither of us looking at each other. My eyes wandered over to him, his head facing down. His head raised up, his eyes locking with mind. Once we made eye contact we both burst into laughter, the awkwardness seeming to leave.
"We have a couple minutes until midnight, want to go outside?" He asked, his gaze turning to the backdoor. I nodded and stood up, following him outside. Outside was a small garden, little trees and shrubs surrounding the fence covered in little lights. Not many people were outside, leaving it quiet and empty. The sky was pitch black now, only the stars lighting it up
"I would have had music, but my phone died" Taehyung said, pulling me alone by the hand to a empty corner of the garden.
"So we'll have to dance without it" he said, smiling at me. He stood closer, lifting up my hands and wrapping them around his neck. His hands trailed down to my waist, taking a step closer to me so we were almost pressed up against each other. He directed me around, our footsteps becoming in sync to the sound of the distant music from inside. His hand intertwined with mine, stepping away and twirling me around. I laughed as I spun, tripping a little when he pulled me back quickly to his chest. I lifted my head up to meet his gaze, our eyes locked together and our faces only centimetres apart. Fireworks made us both jump, signalling the new year. His eyes met mine again, a smirk forming on his lips as he inched closer.
He joined his mouth with mine, pressing his lips up softly against mine. His hand grazed my jaw with the other still tightly around my waist. I kissed back, smiling against him as I lifted my hands back up to his neck.
"Happy New Year Park Areum," he said, pulling away from the kiss.
"Thank you for being my first kiss this year"
