PARK AREUM

When I woke, my head was resting on his chest. My arm was draped over his torso and our legs were wrapped together, his arm wrapped around my waist. I stayed extremely still, assessing the situation in my head. Butterflies filled my stomach as a smile crept on my lips, our bodies were closer than ever. His touch made everything better, a more safe and comforting aura came with it. We fit so well together yet this wasn't right. Maybe I had begun liking him along the way, beginning to enjoy his stupid jokes and late night texts. The nicknames grew on me and I no longer rejected them, the words making me smile every time.

It was all so sweet yet sour. It was unfair, I couldn't like him. Nothing was fair in this, I wouldn't have a future with him. I wanted to stay beside to him, bury my head closer to him and fall back asleep with a smile on my face. But I couldn't, I couldn't get anymore attached than I already was to this boy. I was temporary and there was no shortcuts, I would leave him eventually and it would only waste his time. A sigh escaped lips, a frown on my face as I pulled away from him. As I distanced myself I couldn't help but feel colder, my body seeking his warmth again. I laid on my back and pulled out my phone, checking the time. 11:20am.

Tonight was the party, the one every person spoke about in the school. The party Kim Taehyung was dragging me to. The more I thought about it the more confused I got, everyone who went to the that party usually brought a date. He hadn't stated what I was labelled as, could I be his date or just a friend accompanying him? I sighed heavily, my brain preoccupied.

"Good morning" the deep raspy voice greeted from beside me. I turned my head to look over at him, my hair falling around my face. His body was now lying chest down, his arms under the pillows and his face gently on the pillow facing me.
"Morning" I replied, shifting onto my side more. I took a closer look at him this time, taking in all his features. His face was slightly puffy from his sleep, his long eye lashes reaching down to his cheeks as his eyes were closed. The long strands of hair sat ruffled on his head, some of which pointing in different directions.
"You're embarrassing me" he said, stuffing his head into the pillow.
"Why?" I said, laughing slightly as he hid his head with his hands.
"You're staring and I look bad" he said, peeking out through his fingers.
"You don't look bad" I said truthfully, he looked amazing no matter what. He smirked as he moved his hand away. His hand wandered over to my hair that was hanging down, resting slightly on the mattress. I watched him pick up a strand and twirl it in his fingers, watching the dark hair twist.
"If I was a girl I would want long pretty hair like you" he said, still playing with my hair.
"Why?" I asked, biting back a smile a his hidden compliment.
"So I could do this" he said pulling the strand above his lip, pretending to have a moustache. I laughed and he let the strand of hair go, moving onto a larger portion.
"Are you still coming with me tonight?" He asked, separating the sections of my hair as he spoke. I watched him stare at the hair in concentration as he began to braid it.
"If you want me to" I said, watching a smile tug on his lips.
"Of course I do" he said, frowning when he realised he had messed up the braid. He started again, redoing it.
"I still don't understand why you need me to go though" I said, sighing.
"I'm not going to be the only one there without a date, plus it will be fun I promise" he said, finishing his braid.
"I'm you're date?" I asked, smirking at him.
"Yes" he said, looking up at me and returning a smirk.
"Where did you learn to braid?" I asked, looking down at the neatly tied hair.
"Eonjin likes when I do her hair so she taught me" he explained, smiling at the thought.
"Cute" I said twisting the braid in my hand.
"I know I am" he retorted, grinning at me.
"Alright" I said sarcastically, standing up from the bed. He groaned, obviously displeased by the movement.

"What?"
"Why are you getting up?" He asked, frowning.
"Because it's almost halfway through the day" I said, throwing a pillow at his face. He caught it in his hands and put it over his head, sighing.
"No sleeping, get up" I instructed, standing in the spot. He didn't respond, staying silent.
"I'm serious Tae get up" I said, still waiting for his reply. I sighed heavily and walked back over to the bed, climbing onto his back so I sat over him. I began patting the pillow and shaking him around, attempting to wake him. Still no response. An idea crept into my brain, no one was not ticklish.

I began tickling him all over, causing him to squirm and laugh under my touch.
"Okay! I'll get up!" He yelled, defeated.
"Good" I said, letting go and standing up. He groaned as he sat, stretching his arms out above him. As his arms went up his shirt lifted a little, exposing his lower stomach. Even in this light I could see his well toned abs, the shadows easy to make out. I quickly diverted my gaze, feeling slightly embarrassed. He wasn't even doing anything so why did this effect me?

"I should go now incase my parents worry, thank you" he said, pulling me into a quick hug. I froze as his long arms wrapped around me, pushing me gently against his chest. My hands hung by my sides until I quickly brought them up and hugged him back, smiling against his chest.
"I'll be here at 7 my friends are going to pick us up" he said, letting go of my small frame. He picked up his discarded jacket and wrapped it around himself, grabbing his phone too.
"Okay" I said, smiling softly as I hugged my jumper closer to myself.
"See you later princess" he said, exiting the room. I rolled my eyes and smiled, watching him leave from the stairs.
