Chapter 10

Kayla's Pov.

Once we got home I dropped all my stuff on the floor by the door and Mitch laughed, "I never knew girls shopped this much." I smiled, "Well you've never shopped with me then."

Adam slowly walked in. "Wait, where am I sleeping," I asked. "You can take my bed," Adam said. "No I'm not taking anyone's bed," I confirmed. "I'll take the floor." Ty walked in, "Why not the couch at least?" I just stared at him, "I like the floor, Ty you should know this." "Well you can take the floor in my room then," said Ty. "Sure," I exclaimed. Adam looked a bit sad when that was settled, but I brushed it off.

Ian came in the room and asked, "Hey, who wants to watch a movie?" I almost shouted, "Me!!!" I ran into the living room and jumped onto the couch. All the others laughed at my childness and joined me on the couch. "What movie," Jason asked. Jerome said, "How about the Notebook?" I gasped, "Oh my god that movie is so sad! Nooooo!" Mitch laughed, "Well how about a scary movie?" "I could live with that," I smiled. Jerome asked, "How about the Purge?" I jumped up and down a bit, "Yessss!" Ian put in the movie and sat back on the couch. I looked around the room a bit waiting for the movie to start. Adam was on my left and Mitch was on my right. Jerome sat next to Mitch. Jason, Ian, Ty, and Quinten sat on the other couch all looking comfortable.

I watched the screen as the title came up and my eyes glowed with excitement. I love scary movies. I had never seen the Purge yet, but I had heard a lot about it. I knew that it was a movie about crime being legal for a certain amount of hours. It sounded really interesting.

After about an hour or so there was a jump scare. I screamed and threw myself into whatever was next to me. It just so happened to be Adam. He laughed while pulling me into his side and rubbing smoothing circles on my back. I swear I love scary movies. I just hate the jump scares. They always catch me off guard. Adam was very comforting. He made everything alright. The last thing I remember is the curly locks of Adam's curly hair rubbing against my cheek. I heard a scream from one of the guys as there was a loud noise from the T.V. I was already fast asleep though.

Adam's Pov.

Kayla screamed louder than I thought possible. I immediately looked to see her face looking panicked. She jumped into my side and I took the opportunity to comfort her. I pulled her closer and rubbed comforting circles on her back. She slowly fell asleep. I smiled down at her peaceful body and continued watching the movie. There were several other jump scares where a few of the guys screamed. "Biggums hold me, I'm scared," said Jerome. Mitch just laughed and shook his head, "It's not that scary." Jerome looked at him innocently, "That's what you think." "Benjas aren't scared of anything," said Mitch confidently.

Once the movie had ended, everyone headed off to bed. I stayed on the couch with a sleeping Kayla in my arms. She looked so beautiful and peaceful. I wish I could tell her how I felt. Maybe I should? I don't know.... "Get yourself together Adam. She wouldn't like you," I whispered to myself. I was startled by a voice, "Who?" "What," I said. "Who," I heard Kayla say groggily. "Oh nothing, just go back to sleep. It's fine," I told her. She nodded her head very slightly and immediately fell back asleep.
