Harry's POV

I reached for Saige as she tripped over something, running towards the house. She started to grab random stuff and shoving it into bags.

"Asher! Get down here now!"

Asher came down the stairs, nearly tripping along them. What was it with these people and their inability to stay on their feet?

"They're Z's coming, we need to go now," she said, shoving food into a backpack. "Hurry and grab as much as you can."

"Saige, we'll be fine, they'll go around the house, we'll be safe here." Asher said, grabbing her arm, stopping her.

Saige snatched her arm away and met Asher's eyes. "You know what happened last time."

Asher looked away as I furrowed my eyebrows. What happened last time?

"We might be safe if we lay low and let them pass.." Asher said softly, laying his hands softly on her shoulders.

She shook her head vigorously. "I can't, Ash, I can't, you know-" She stopped, choking on her words.

"Saige.."

"Asher-"

"All right, we'll go!" Asher cuts her off. "I'll grab as much as I can."

I watched as Saige continued to throw as much as she can together, her chest heaving as she struggled to breathe.

"Saige, calm down," I said, reaching out to her. "Hey, stop for a second."

She snatched her arm away, running hands through her hair.

"What is it with you and hordes?" I asked her.

"Harry, we haven't got time for this, please just help me gather stuff."

"Tell me what's going on," I demanded. "Why are we leaving instead of taking the save route?"

"Last time a horde surrounded my house, my brother died!" She yelled at me.

I sighed, taking a step back. "Saige, I'm sorry.."

"Now help me get everything!"

"Saige, slow down!" Asher called after Saige as she nearly sprinted through the woods, away from the house.

She finally stopped, catching her breath. "We have to keep moving."

"The horde isn't moving any faster, they probably just reached the house, we've already walked a mile or so."

She started to shake her head, her eyes glued to the ground. "We have to keep going."

I reached out to her before I realized what I was doing, my hands sliding down her arms. "It's all right, we're fine."
