After arriving at home I decide to go straight to bed. I don't want to hear or see anything for the moment. But apparently someone has already heard of the finished job and before I have a chance to get away and into the security of sleep my phone beeps with a new message. Surprisingly a video message.
I sit down at the dining room table and press the start button.
"Hello Mr. Kerner, or shall I say George? After all we've know each other a little bit by now don't we? You've done a pretty good job so far and are a surprisingly good killer - I'm proud of you. You know when to follow the rules and better not intercede with my plans. Because we've grown quite close, you and me, and are so similar I have decided to give you your next job almost personally. Listen very carefully now, I won't repeat it and this message will delete itself within seconds:..."
Quickly I react and grab pen and paper from the kitchen counter.
"Joel Fisher is one of the most tiring people on this planet and an absolute sloth. He never does anything all day which, in my opinion, makes him guilty of sloth. I want this idleness of his to be his death until tomorrow night. You may sleep for now, rest well. In a minute you will see a picture of 11 year old Joel. Once it blacks out, that's that. No repeating the message, you hear me? Alright then, good night, sir."
A picture appears. It is the picture of an, as he said, 11 year old boy with black short hair and brown eyes. He's wearing braces.
Seconds later the screen goes blank.
