We all walked around the woods for a bit longer, I helped Jodie collect some leaves that had fallen on to the floor and she jumped into a massive pile of them that someone had created and left there. Brad hasn't spoken to me since the last conversation we had about an hour ago which means that he is probably annoyed with me which is understandable because I'm an annoying person, I'm surprised he hasn't gone home yet to be honest. "Let's go home!" I exclaimed to Jodie as she held my hand. "I'm hungry." She stated. "We can have some lunch when we get home." I said as we walked out of the park and down the road. "What's for lunch?" She asked. "I'm not sure yet, we will have to have a look when we get home. See what is in the cupboards." I explained and helped her cross the road safely, I looked over at Brad to see him looking down at the floor while kicking stones. I didn't mean to put him in a bad mood earlier but I can't just forget about Jodie, she comes first for me because she's my sister and she doesn't have anyone else at the moment.

After a 5 minute walk we reached home and I helped Jodie take her shoes off before she ran into the living room to play with her toys again, I took my shoes off before walking into the kitchen to see what food there was, by the looks of things there isn't much... I might have to see if I can find some money to go shopping with. I looked behind me to see Brad sat at the kitchen table with his head in his hands. "What's up with you?" I asked as I got a tin of tomato soup out of the cupboard, he shrugged his shoulders and I sighed before pouring the soup into a pan and putting it on the hob. "I didn't mean to upset you earlier." I said. "You didn't, I'm just keeping out of your way." He explained as I sat on the chair next to him. "Don't stay out of my way." I said and he looked at me. "Why?" He asked. "Because I want you here, if I'm honest with you I wish I could spend some more time with you... Sometimes I wish Jodie wasn't around just for an hour or two so I could have some time with you. I'm sorry that I can't give all of my attention to you, but things are a bit different here compared to at university." I explained and he nodded. "I understand." Brad said before his phone buzzed in his pocket and he took it out to read the message, I stood up and walked over to the hob to check on the soup for Jodie.

"It's my mum." Brad said. "You can go home if you want to, I understand." I said and Brad shook his head even though I had my back to him. "I'm not going home until next week, but my mum asked if you wanted to come to mine next week? Then it's fair because I would of been at yours for a week and you can be at mine for a week, maybe you can even see your dad?" Brad asked, I turned the hob off and poured the soup into a bowl. "It's nice of your mum to offer but I can't, I need to stay here for Jodie." I said and placed the bowl and a spoon on the table. "Jodie!" I shouted and she ran into the kitchen. "Your lunch is ready." I said and she climbed on to the chair before I helped to tuck her in. "She could go to your dads?" Brad asked. "I'm not sure how my dad would feel about having a 9 year old in the house." I said. "There is no harm in asking?" Brad said and I sat next to him. "Why are you so adamant to get me to go to your house?" I asked. "Because then I can spend some proper time with you." Brad said and I sighed. "I don't know..." I said and Brad placed his hand on my knee under the table so Jodie couldn't see. "At least ask your dad?" He asked and I sighed. "Ok..." I replied.

"Do you want any lunch?" I asked as I got a tissue and wiped the soup away from Jodie's mouth. "What is there?" He asked. "Not much, I'm going to have to go food shopping." I said and looked in the cupboards and fridge. "Sandwich? Pasta? Soup?" I listed. "What sandwich fillings have you got?" He asked. "Ham, jam, cheese, marmite." I explained. "Can I have a ham sandwich please." Brad said and I nodded as I got the bread out. "Do you want cucumber or anything?" I asked. "Yeah please." Brad replied, I got the butter, ham and cucumber out of the fridge before beginning to make his sandwich.

I finished making his sandwich before putting it on a plate and passing him it. "Do you want a drink?" I asked. "Just some water please?" He answered as I got a cup out of the cupboard. "Done!" Jodie exclaimed as she jumped down from the table and ran upstairs to her room, I cleared her bowl away and began to wash up. "Are you not eating?" He asked. "I'm not that hungry at the moment." I said and he nodded with a worried expression as he took a bite of his sandwich. "What time does Jodie go to bed?" Brad asked. "About 8, why?" I asked. "7 more hours until I can spend some proper time with you." Brad said and I rolled my eyes as I sat down next to him. "You're spending time with me now." I said as he finished up his sandwich and he smiled, he then reached his arms out towards me and I stood up before sitting on his lap. Recently I haven't been thinking about my actions towards Brad, I just do what I feel is right at the time which is odd for me as I normally over think everything, I guess I just feel safe with him. "Come here." Brad said and pulled me into a hug, I rested my head on his chest and he kissed the top of my head. "That was a nice sandwich." Brad said and I giggled before looking up at him. "I'm glad." I said and he smiled in return.

A few seconds of silence filled the room as we both just sat with each other in a hug. "Brad..." I blurted out and he nodded. "What are we?..." I asked and he looked down at me before snaking his arms around my waist, I moved into a straddle position on his lap so I could face him. "Whatever you want to be..." Brad said and kissed the top of my head. "Do you like me?" I asked. "As a friend? Yeah of course." Brad said and I looked down before fiddling with my fingers. "As more than friends... Well that's a different question." Brad said as he lifted my chin up and winked. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well it all depends on what you're comfortable with, if you want to be more than friends then I'm fine with that, but if you want to just stay friends then I'm fine with that too." Brad said as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear and I smiled a little. "But one thing I know for certain is you are so beautiful." Brad said and I watched as his eyes scanned my body, I began to feel self conscious and Brad smiled. "Don't be shy..." He said and rested his forehead against mine. "Ok..." I mumbled and he smiled at me.
