Nick’s POV
Finally, for me to be married.
For me and Selena to be together for as long as God is willing to let us. The same words my dad told us back at that restaurant. I never imagined this to happen so quickly when we first dated.
I never saw that I would get married and have a family at my age.
Once Selena and I kissed as a married couple, we had to let go and continued to walk back down the aisle. We kept going until we reached the end and I took her outside towards the garden.
I wanted to keep Selena all to myself and to have this one moment alone with her.
Selena asks, “Nick, what are we doing over here?” Again, she has no idea what I was planning on doing. This was a new side of me that I knew she was loving.
“Don’t worry about it. I just had to get us away from everyone,” I tell her.
I held onto to her waist, walking towards the garden on the farthest side of the estate. I continued to lead her towards a lightly wooded area of the garden where a marble stone bench was surrounded by white rose petals.
Selena really couldn’t do anything but to for me to lead her. I sat her down on the bench and sat right next to her.
“Nick,” she says, “why are we out here? Shouldn’t we be with the others getting ready for the reception?”
I just want this to be perfect for me and Selena. I say to her, “I just want to spend time with you before they start to look for us.”
Right before she could say anything, I kissed her again. Again, she was caught off guard, but she didn’t care anymore and fell even more in love with me.
When we looked at each other, I knew that we both saw our lives and our future of being together and that we didn’t want anything to break it again. Selena saw my passion and my commitment for her and all she ever wanted my love and loyalty.
She says, "You know, I've always dreamed of having a moment like this for a long time and you were the one to give it to me." That just made me feel better, giving her what she has always wanted.
I saw everything beautiful thing that I loved about Selena now that she was my wife and I would always pray for her to stay with me forever. I loved her smile, her spirit, her glow that she had whenever she was happy or shy to be near me.
I still don’t understand why she was so insecure around me, and I wanted to show everyone that she was the most beautiful girl I had ever fallen in love with.
What still breaks my heart was finding out that Kevin was in love with her and betrayed Danielle. And that Selena had followed through by letting it happen to her. I thought I knew her better than that, especially to remain faithful to only me. But she tricked me and played with my heart until we finally got married.
I will get back at Kevin for taking Selena away from me, but the last thing I would want to do is punish her for kissing my brother.
I know better than to hold this over Selena because there were so many times that she has forgiven me for my mistakes. Just being with her right now is all that I need. To spend my life with her and my children.
She says, "Nick, I think we should go back. Thanks for bringing me out here with you. This was very sweet of you." Looking at me with her beautiful smile is bringing out the love that I have for her and I just wish I could do more for her.
She places a soft kiss on my lips and I take her hand and we both walk back to the estate and into a private room where both of our families are waiting for us to sign the marriage certificate with our parents as the witnesses.
