~December 24, 2015, at Promises Treatment Center – Nick’s room
Nick: *playing on his guitar*
Mark: *walks into his room* Hey Nick.
Nick: *looks up* Hey Mark. Do you need something?
Mark: Well, I wanted to tell you something that I think you might be happy to hear.
Nick: I don’t think anything at this point would make me happy. I’m still here away from my family.
Mark: That’s what I’m getting at. You’ve made really great progress here and I’ve gotten Jillian’s report about it. And the board members are really excited about it.
Nick: Ok, so what now?
Mark: They told me that since this is a family holiday, they’re willing to give you a two-day pass to be with your family.
Nick: Are you serious?
Mark: Of course. Why would I lie about something like this? I’ve notified Selena earlier and she’s really happy for you to go home today.
Nick: Wait, I’m leaving today?
Mark: Yep. So start packing again ‘cause Selena should be arriving soon.
Nick: Alright. Thanks so much, Mark.
Mark: Anytime, Nick. *walks out*
Nick: Finally I get to leave this hellhole.
~Promises Treatment Center – Lobby
Selena: *walking towards the reception desk* Hi Kathy. How’s it going?
Kathy: Hey Selena. It’s going pretty good. How’s the little ones doing?
Selena: They’re okay. They’re really happy about their father coming home today.
Kathy: That’s great! Rarely does the board members give day passes, so that’s really great for you and Nick to be together for the holidays.
Selena: I know. It’s been only been two weeks since my last visit with our kids. So I guess we’ll see what happens tonight.
Kathy: Are you planning anything special for him?
Selena: I can’t think of anything to make tonight special other for him to be with me and the little ones.
Kathy: Well, at least he’s got that.
Selena: We’ll just see how far tonight goes for both of us.
Mark: *walking towards them* Hey Selena, it’s great to see you again.
Selena: Hi Mark. It’s great to see you too. How’s Nick been doing?
Mark: He’s been okay. He’s really happy about going home, so this is a blessing that he’s getting to leave for two days.
Selena: Well, thank God he can finally be with us. I just really want him home now.
Mark: Just a little bit longer, Selena. He’ll be fine.
Selena: *giggles* Really? You’re going to use one of his songs as a reference?
Mark: Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Selena: You got me there. Has he been making progress?
Mark: Definitely. He wouldn’t be leaving today if he hadn’t.
*Soon two guys carrying Nick’s suitcases enter the lobby and continue walking out to the parking lot. Nick then walks into the lobby*
Selena: Nick! *runs towards him and hugs him*
