Chapter 9

~March 1, 2015 – Nick and Selena’s house, their bedroom

Nick: *lying on their bed* Selena, are you really sure about this?

Selena: *standing next to the mirror* I know what I’m doing. People kept asking me if marrying you was such a good idea, and I’m still doing it.

Nick: I hope you aren’t ever going to change your mind about it.

Selena: I’m not. You know better than that. And I called my mom and my manager and told them to release the statement today.

Nick: And what happens if you want to go back to work? Go back touring? Do you really think you can do this?

Selena: Why are you questioning me about this?

Nick: I just want to be sure about what you’re doing. I’m not going to stop you, but if this is what you really want..

Selena: Yes. I truly do want to retire. Nick, we’re parents now and I just want to be with the twins now. And we both have to plan for the wedding.

Nick: I know. Can you just do it all and we’ll say I helped?

Selena: Very funny, babe.

Nick: What? I still have to go back to the studio to finish producing other artists’ albums. You said I would be the provider, so I’m doing exactly that.

Selena: Of course you are. Well, I have to get ready for a press release on my retirement and then I’m meeting up with my mom, Demi, and Taylor.

Nick: I never see Taylor anymore.

Selena: Well, it hasn’t been easy for me since everyone likes to say that Lorde is her new best friend. I’ll always love Taylor, but I’m not a fan for Lorde since she likes to call out her female colleagues.

Nick: Alright then. Good luck with that. Does Taylor even like me?

Selena: More than Justin, apparently. But sometimes I really don’t care what Taylor has to say. That’s just her opinion.

Nick: I swear, if she writes a song about us, I’m going to smash her guitar.

Selena: Don’t do that.

Nick: *chuckles* I’m actually serious.

Selena: Whatever. Look, I’m going to be out for a while, do you think you can handle the little ones while I’m gone?

Nick: I’ll be fine. And so will they. *stands up and walks towards Selena* I promise nothing and no one is going to get them.

Selena: Alright. I’ll call you later, babe.

Nick: Also later tonight, there’s someone I want you to meet.

Selena: Who?

Nick: You’ll see tonight. *kisses her*

Selena: Fine. *walks out of the room and leaves the house*

Nick: *phone rings, caller ID: Clara* Hey, what’s up?

Clara: Did she leave yet?

Nick: Yea. You still have my address?

Clara: Yep. I’m so happy I got released today.

Nick: I’m really proud of you, Clara. I think you should come over and meet the twins.

Clara: Oh my God, that would be amazing. Do you mind if Travis comes along?

Nick: I’m not sure that’s a good idea. That guy is really sketchy.

Clara: Nick, he’s a nice guy. Give him a chance.
