Once I threw my cap up in the air, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I was done. I picked up my cap and ran over to Jeff, who had sat in the first row.
"Hey, Jay!" I yell, as I smack my hands on his shoulders.
"Hey, beautiful." I blush like always. I mean, if Jeff Atkins compliments you, you always blush.
"We are officially done! No more school work, no homework, no assholes! We're free!"
Jeff let out a chuckle, his blue eyes squinting to block out the sun. "We still have a baby to take care of." He whispered into my ear.
"I meant from school! Come on, let's go see the rest of the gang. They're standing by the fence."
Jeff and I walk over, immediately engulfed in a hug. When we pulled away, I'm greeted by Scarlett. I hear giggles to my left, seeing Jeff tickling Mila. That sight could warm anyone's heart.
"Oh, honey, you look gorgeous. I'm so proud of you." She mumbles, just loud enough for her and I to hear. I smile at her, quickly thanking her before heading over to rejoin the group.
"There she is! Emily Foley!" I hear Hannah announce, earning the attention of our other friends. They begin to clap for Jeff and I, a smile creeping onto both of our faces.
"Do you think we should tell them?" I whisper, picking away some fuzz that had gotten on his shirt.
"School's out, why not?"
"Hey lovebirds, we're still here." Jess jokes, receiving laughter from the rest of our friend group.
"Okay, chill. We wanna tell you guys something." I start to say, leaving their minds to wonder what it is.
"Are you guys planning on going to the same college? Because if you are, you're crazy." Justin states, his arms folding over his chest.
I pull out my phone, texting Justin what is happening, because he's currently clueless. When he pulls out his phone, I see a smile on his face. Finally!
"We aren't actually." I continue, grabbing Jeff's hand in the process.
"Can you just tell us please? I hate guessing games." Alex says under his breath.
"Okay, well...Emily's pregnant." Jeff looks around watching his friends smile and grin at his statement.
"AND I ALREADY KNEW!" Justin yelled, making faces at the rest of them. Once they got around the fence, Jeff and I were pulled into a giant group hug.
"Party at my place tonight. We're all gonna take turns on Emily Patrol." Jess tells us, looking at me when she finished her sentence.
"What the fuck is Emily Patrol? Am I not a responsible adult?" I ask, half laughing.
"I'm not gonna answer that...but anyway how far along are you?"
"4 and a half months. Almost 5."
"Okay, no choice now. There's Emily Patrol because I said so and because you didn't tell me four months ago." I roll my eyes, figuring that this could be fun if I let it.

After arriving at Jess' party, we're instantly greeted by the strong smell of alcohol. I looked into the living room, seeing Jess, Justin, Alex, Clay, Zach, Hannah and Tony sitting on the couch and some on the floor. I gently knocked on the wall, looking as my friends turn their heads.
"Emily, sit next to me!" I hear Hannah yell over the music. I pull Jeff along behind me, making sure not to leave my walking buddy behind. Seeing the one space left on the couch, I tell Jeff to sit, allowing me to sit on the arm of the couch.
"Don't sit on the arm of the couch, sit on my lap."
"Jeff, its fine."
"Just sit. Or I'll get up."
"I'm not going to get hurt."
"I'm on Emily Patrol."
"You're always on Emily Patrol, Jay." And then he gives me the look. The i'm-so- done-with-you look, which makes me cave into his demands. I sit on his lap, his arm now wrapped around my torso.
"So, what's it like being pregnant?" Hannah asks, looking down at me from her end of the couch.
"It's really weird to be honest. And sometimes it's so annoying. I can't eat because I'm nauseous, and i'm nauseous because I can't eat. And I get blood drawn occasionally. But it's really cool, I feel the baby move around."
"Are you going to find out what it is, boy or girl?" Clay leans forward now looking at Jeff and I.
"We both want to be surprised. I just want a healthy baby, but I'm kind of leaning towards girl. I see how he is with Mila and I'm a mush. It makes me happy."
"What about a baby shower & and gender reveal?!" Violet nearly popped out of her seat at her own suggestion. I'm friends with such dorks. She looks at me, her eyes about to pop out of her head.
"I'll think about it. It's still so early."
"Girl, what the hell are you talking about? You're already halfway through!"
"It feels like i'm moving so slow." I said, resting my head on Jeff's shoulder, letting out a yawn. His hand leaves my torso and travels up and down my back, stopping at my hair.
"Tired?" He asks. I nod once more, getting comfortable on his lap. "Wanna go home?" My eyelids were to heavy so i caved, allowing me to fall asleep.
"Well, I guess we are gonna go. Goodnight guys." He whispered, careful not to wake a sleeping Emily.
"Goodnight & congratulations, Jeff!" He smiled at those words. His dream was only beginning.
