"Have you decided if you're going to let your mother see Sienna?" Jeff asked as we swayed to the music.
"I texted Justin about it, and he told me that the end decision is up to me." I started to say. "I just don't want to make the wrong choice, you know?" I sighed.
Jeff nodded, his hands resting on my sides. "I get it. There are pros and cons to each, you just gotta figure out which there is more of."
"Okay, that shouldn't be that hard. A pro would be that Sienna would get to know her grandmother. But a con is that her grandmother might not be around much afterwards."
"Pro: your mom may change."
"Con: She's still dating Meth Seth."
"Well, if she doesn't change, at least Sienna is young enough where she won't remember her."
"That's true. Maybe I'll call my mom later. I'm just feeling a little uneasy about it all, Jay." I mumbled.
"Em, that's okay. It's mother's intuition. You wanna protect Sienna from danger and I get that. I hate to break it to you, but you can't protect her from everything." Jeff reassured me, his arms traveling up and down my sides. "I hate to tell you that."
We swayed back and forth for a few moments as I thought to myself.
"I'm going to let her see Sienna. Only for a few minutes. If she were to die without seeing her grandchild, I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself."
"If that's what you want, consider it done." Jeff said, moving a strand of hair away from my face.
"Thank you...for everything. I never thought that I would make it this far. You helped me when I needed it the most. We've had our ups and downs, yeah, but everyone does. I'm grateful for you and Sienna. I think I just get embarrassed asking for help."
"Emily, asking for help doesn't make you weak. You are loved and kind and beautiful. Look at you, god... you're gorgeous. I know you're scared about everything the future has in store and that's normal. I love you, Emily Foley. And we are going to get through this together."
