After hanging up with Emily, Jeff looked for the first flight out to California tomorrow afternoon.
Truth be told, coach let them go early for the approaching holiday: Thanksgiving. And to be honest, Jeff had a lot to be thankful for.
He quickly found a late night flight that would land him at Emily's doorstep just a little after 9 PM. To say he was excited was an understatement. She needed a surprise, she needed him. So in that moment he decided he was going to surprise her by coming home early.

He commented on Hannah's post before packing up all his belongings in his suitcase, double checking that he had everything before closing the door on the way out. He dialed Emily's number, putting the phone up to his ear as he got into a taxi.
"Hello?" Jeff had to admit that it felt so good to hear her voice. He smiled
"Hey, I figured I'd check in to see how my girls were doing."
Emily yawned, chuckling. "Sienna is relaxing, she's never calm unless she's in her swing. Luna is chewing a treat that she got, and I am currently sipping hot cocoa while catching up on my shows." She sighed, she sounded content.
"Well, I've got a meeting now and then the team is going to get some food, hopefully I'll be able to facetime you when it's over."
"I'd enjoy that. Your mom is coming over for a little bit. She insisted that she will watch Sienna so I can get some sleep."
"That's sweet. I'll text you when I'm done with my meeting."
