So here I was, running through the woods like some escaped omega! (You know the one, the omega that is actually the daughter of the most powerful alpha? She runs away, right into the arms of...)
I was a little nervous, wondering if my dad would come back to check on me. So, I'll tell this wonderful story from the point of view of an escaped omega!

So here's the story!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Alpha Adam!"
The young man stopped with a snarl. "I'm not Alpha yet," he snapped at the young male omega that insisted on trailing him. He turned eighteen next week. He had spent most of the last year slowing taking over his father's duties.
"I know you're supposed to stay near to obey my every command," he ranted at the omega, "but trust me, for the next hour, I have no intention of giving any! I am sick of being cooped up for all these extra training sessions my dad insists on! I know I'm going to be made Alpha soon, but I need a break! So go find something to do for the next hour... AWAY FROM ME!"
Adam knew he shouldn't yell at the omega; the omega was just obeying the alpha's commands. Sometimes Adam thought his dad took an alpha's ability to command to extremes. It got really frustrating sometimes... like constantly lately.
He watched the omega high-tail it back to the stone building that housed the training arena. Enough with hard walls, metal weights and weapons; enough with dancing through battle moves on the hard-packed earth of the outdoor arena. His father would be embarrassed if he knew about Adam's daydreams; dancing with his as-yet unknown, sweet-smelling mate. Her arms would be wrapped around him. He'd be swaying with her through some equally sweet smelling grass.
Adam moved decisively toward the pack's southern border. His thoughts left him with a desire to simply run through some sun-lit fields. The area he decided to head to was a scraggly forest area with a number of small fields intermixed with small ravines. Storing his clothes in one of the many hidden niches designed for such use, he shifted to his huge, mostly black wolf.
Giving a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching, he rolled over, wiggling, indulging himself by rubbing his back on the ground. As often as he shifted, he didn't think he'd ever get used to how his skin itched at first. His father frowned upon such antics, demanding regal behavior at all times. Regal behavior was quickly forgotten as he got to his feet, ready to get away before the omega had time to alert the Weapons Master.
Running, a term his father seldom used, was sheer bliss. To his father, one patrolled or trained. Running was something cowards did. Adam never understood how his father could deny the heritage within them all, to understand the world around them, more than either humans or beasts really could. Adam could let his stress and worries go, and just make the grasses sway with the passage of his body. Before long his tongue was hanging out of his mouth as he grinned, enjoying his run. His paws scraped along the loose dirt carpeted with long-dead leaves. His graceful leaps over various crevasses were the product of the training he was growing frustrated with.
He pulled up short when he heard what sounded like crying. Wolf instincts kicked in as Adam moved to a position where he would be invisible to his prey.
"I am not going to just stop because I finally outran them! I am going to have at least one day free while I am out here! I am not going to cry! I am..."
Adam listened to the teenage girl quietly rant to herself. His heart expanded just listening to her determination. She was dressed in sturdy jeans, wearing a white, long-sleeve shirt, and a white hat of some sort. She had more spunk than anyone he could think of. Adam didn't know who she had outrun, but from the sound of it, she had escaped from someone. He wondered how she managed to get away from whoever it was. She was too preoccupied to be worried about her current predicament, being a rogue on his pack's lands.
