Luna

Even though he isn't my mate, my new brother really is awesome! Mom says I have to limit my phone calls to a half-hour😡 but I can't complain. We video-chat every night! And... I know what he hasn't even told his Luna yet!!! (What he is🐺🤫)

She is really pretty, but she doesn't know any more than my brother does. I had to explain to her what a Luna was! He might be adorable, but that brother of mine doesn't know anything!

It got me to thinking though, that someone else might not know what a Luna is.

See, a pack has its mated leaders. They are both alphas. It would get really confusing if someone asked for the alpha and the wrong one showed up! Therefore, to avoid confusion and to honor the Moon Goddess, the female of the mated leaders started to be called Luna.

Now, this has caused a few problems, since only the male came to be called Alpha. Most packs came to think of only the male as being the one who can lead the pack, causing a bit of prejudice against female only leaders. It got to the point that if a pack only had a female leader, her mate was expected to lead the pack; as if a pack only had one leader instead of two. There are a lot of stories about female alphas and the struggles they have to go through.

The Luna became in charge of the domestic part of the pack. She organizes events, makes sure the children were taken care of, and even meddles sometimes in the personal lives of pack members if she thought there was a problem.

There are a lot of stories where the older Luna acts something like Cinderella's evil step-mother 🙄 interfering with her son's mate. Sometimes the older Luna is like the Mom the abused main character never had.

I wonder what my brother thinks of my mom as an older Luna? I found out his mom had passed away😥 He lives with his dad out west. I'm not sure I mentioned it before, but my new brother is a bonafide Native American Indian! This little detail might explain why he doesn't know anything about the Moon Goddess. He says it's the Spirit of the Wolf that guides him. I told him I bet the Spirit of the Wolf is the Moon Goddess' mate that I keep dreaming about. He's a soft grey wolf with silver moonlit eyes. He has highlights of other colors, just like in the story I wrote! I might have to write one about the two of them.

It's really frustrating, my brother being what he is, and making fun of some of the concepts in my stories. Despite his teasing, he's still very kind about it. He doesn't put me down or demand I change my stories. He just reminds me they are fiction and the real world, the truth, is a little different. He claims to enjoy my stories. I would have to wonder if he really does or if he is just being kind, except... he demands the truth, lives by the truth, so I don't think he'd lie to me about anything!

And his stories!!!!🐺🐺🐺

My Brother told me his mom wrote them, and they aren't fiction like everyone thinks🤫🤫🤫 (you'll help keep this secret, right? I know you will 👊) It's a whole collection of his adventures as a young wolf, along with the lessons his mom taught him. He has twenty kids stories! Well, technically she wrote them and he inherited them, or are they his because they're about him? Does it matter? They are awesome stories and I highly recommend them. Guess what the first one is called?
