I'm up!!! It's very early!!! I can hear the birds chirping everywhere!!! Dad is not near as excited to be up this early😂
Mom insisted on another good breakfast. I know I need the energy, but I don't want to be stuffed for running.
Dad is carrying a backpack so if I want to stop for water somewhere we can. He even packed my stuffed wolfie so he can run with us! He's so thoughtful. I'm eager to go!
More after the race!!!!!

I have so much to tell you my beautiful wolves!
!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I'm trying to figure out how to relay absolutely everything that happened today!! For now I'm going to tell you about the start of the race... and the end of the race😱 for the rest, it's got to come out in stories, there is absolutely no other way to share the absolutely wonderful events that took place today!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, for the start of the race...
It was exciting to see so many people together! We started in the back of the pack. It's very frustrating trying to imagine dad as an alpha when we are stuck in the back! So... I came up with the idea of many packs coming together!
It makes sense because in a way there really are many different packs running. You should see the fast runners warming up. They are so intense!
The next group was actually groups! Funny huh? But you could tell by the shirts, there are some companies where it seems like all of their employees must be participating! So it's like each group of different colored shirts is a different pack.
Then there are individuals. I'm pretending a few rogues snuck in 🙈
We didn't actually start running right away because there were so many people, we had to wait for some of them to start moving. Then we were off! I started off strong, really feeling strong like I really was a wolf!
By the first check point I was walking😭
Dad laughed and said it's ok, that we would alternate between walking and running. That sounded like a good compromise to me. Dad and I fist bumped in agreement.
Dad was great the whole time! He really helped play around like we were wolves. He even howled a little bit with me, he'd never done that before!!! He even tried calling me his Luna! I so had to set him straight during one of the times we walked. How could he not understand that if he was an alpha then Mom would be his Luna, not me😂😂😂
He was so silly! But he really really tried and I love him for it😍😘😘😘
I wanted to make sure I was running past the second checkpoint. The guy there seemed really bored with just having to sit there and not join in the fun so I gave him a big wave and he waved back with a huge smile. I like to think I made his day🤗
Half way to the next check point I started to feel tired, but I didn't want dad to know. Almost everyone had already past us, and I no longer felt like I was running with a pack. There were still some people behind us, but right now there was no one in sight before us or after us.
That's when I did something that was the first step in my life being changed forever!
I fussed at dad🙊😓 I felt bad because he'd been so good. I told him the next stop wasn't too far away and I just wanted to enjoy nature for awhile alone. He didn't want to leave me alone at first but I insisted. I rather loudly and, well, to be honest I just yelled and cried until he gave in😱🙊😓 I'm so bad😭 but I really wanted... I don't know what I wanted right then.
Dad agreed finally, insisting he wouldn't go past the third checkpoint until I got there.
He pulled my wolfie out of the backpack and handed it to me. "Go run with your wolf in the wilderness," he said winking at me. His hand on my shoulder felt so sad for some reason.
The second he was out of sight I hightailed it straight into the wild woods, running with my wolf just like dad had said!

Now, what happened next, well, like I said, I have to tell it in stories to tell it right.

Now, the end of the marathon was interesting too for a different reason. I ended up in front of dad! I had to stop a runner to ask them to let my dad know I was ok. The guy ran back along the route because we weren't that far ahead of the fourth checkpoint! I don't know how much time had past but I was guessing he would be worried by that point. So many people had been worried about me! It was gratifying to know that all these people I didn't know still felt connected to me somehow. It was the perfect ending!
Oh, and I crossed the finish line with my dad at my side!
